A few posters have said it is going to be more difficult to get into the play offs next season.
Whilst that will be true that there will potentially be bigger and better clubs, there is also likely to be less smaller clubs to battle it out for the bottom four.
Barrow for example are doing brilliantly and may have that confidence if they go up, but looking at the top 8-9 clubs in league two, if any of the teams that go up start well, there is no guarantee that they will struggle.
I guess we all underestimated Stevenage but if you have an established side, that are organized and confident they can do well.
No doubt we will have a major change to our squad in the summer and it may be a difficult start. To rebuild a new team and do well is difficult but hopefully the manager is given time to develop the side, make a few tweaks in Jan and the following summer and once the side is organized we can look to push on.

When was the last season we have not done exactly that and every season, got nowhere. Under DC, I believe

I'd honestly be content with continued mid-table mediocrity for a few more seasons if that meant getting our house in order of the pitch. We've seen it posted on here time and time again - we need a proper structure, proper recruitment set-up and better facilities. We are headed in the right direction, slowly, and I'd be happy to 'stagnate' in the league if it were to yield long-term benefits.
The issue is nothing is guaranteed. The league will definitely be tougher next year with (likely) Stockport and Wrexham coming up and firing more money at it, alongside the Championship relegatees - anyone from Millwall down looks like the type of club you'd expect to be comfortably top two in L1 bar Wednesday and Rotherham, both of whom are always solid play-off teams in L1 at a minimum.
This season was our opportunity to shoot for the stars and unfortunately we've probably blown it so the best thing we can do IMO is get our sh1t together in the background.

Agree with the idea we need to get the off field elements sorted; stadium, admin and probably The Quarters too. We can't pick when we get promoted, we have to try every season, but if we could it would probably be the season after next to time it with the above.

A good mate on this forum have been telling me since 1997 ' we will get to championship'. However : even he's re-evaluated and accepted 3-5 years . He's gone from a positive optimistic to a realist.
Personally I see no intent or signs we are increasing the budget . There's little evidence of any changes from our historical challenges . We sell players and spend a modest ammount. I would be happy if we could stay mid table and cut out the expectations of the championship . If we do it as an outsider (unlikely) then great !.
