Not this season, i don’t think so.
Long term with these owners we could be.

We were 16th in the League on the 26th of October 2023, we were 11th on the 1st of December 2023 and are currently 12th. I don't know which airlines you fly on but that's not what I would call a nose-dive... Our form guide over the last 8 games put us 20th we must have built up a points cushion to the teams below us, which games can you see us winning out of the next half a dozen fixtures after this weeks 2 home losses: Stevenage (a) Northampton (a) Carlisle (h) Leyton Orient (h) (top of the form table) Derby (h) Unless Finley &/or Taylor suddenly get fit and we then improve you can only really see the Carlisle game as possibly winnable. After beating Portsmouth, Plymouth and Charlton probably very few saw us losing to Wycombe and Exeter. After losing four on the bounce probably very few saw us beating Oxford then Exeter... ...and after those two games, no one was predicting two home defeats to Fleetwood and Burton. I am a betting man. No reason we can't go to Stevenage and Northampton and get results, the last time we failed to score away from home in the league was September...

Too many loanees and journeymen at the tail end of their careers. Are they really worried? Got bored so plotted the ages of players to feature for the First Team this season, incredibly odd not having a single player 26-28 which, is generally seen as a "prime" for footballers. Only six players between 23 and 30 also seems completely insane.

Yes we are.
Absolutely no pathway, losing really good players. Signing journeymen on a last big payday, anyone who can’t make it at their own club on loan.
A really good re-think tbf. It’s not hard with the talent in and around Bristol.

Not enough goals in the side and look vulnerable at the back. Why bother signing multiple midfielders if the fallbacks are just going to knock it long. We have squad made to play passing football, the tactics being deployed totally the opposite. To add, empathy I do have is because I think he also being shafted by the board in January and their failure to run the club so far.

Not impressed by his post match interview yesterday, “ he’s certain it won’t change” not warming to this guy at the moment.

There are 10 prem clubs with an average age below 26 of players used this season.(according to transfer market site) There are 17 sides in the championship below average 26according to The72. Fair to assume then, that players at 26 cost more? Teams who rely on academy graduates will have more younger and therefore older heads to balance it? Does it matter? Lots of factors but this is interesting 👍🏻

Wish they would all go on another journey and take the manager with them, they need to kep there on on him though as he might get lost, hopefully.

We all know clean sheets are our biggest problem - and I know that was a throwaway line when you typed it, but it's 1 or 2, not 2 or 3 per game... ...last six games, last ten games, season as a whole, the average we concede is still below 1.5 goals per game. I guess the point I'm making is a lot of people seem to be mis-remembering or over-exagerating how 'bad' we are at the moment...

The comments are a confusing mix of 'yes we're crap, but that's all Barton's fault with his useless squad' and 'yes we're crap, but that's all Taylor's fault with his useless tactics'. I'd hazard a wild guess and say we are neither crap nor promotion prospects. And probably won't be next season either. We just haven't put the money into the squad to be anything else. That's obviously what talks, even if the occasional Crawley or Yeovil pop up, burn brightly for 5 mins and then fizzle out.
