Absolutely. A gutless and hapless bunch of players who invariably concede the first goal in games and then lack the guile or motivation to recover. Vulnerable defensively and no cutting edge, with a manager who is obviously bereft of answers and unable to arrest the slide. A totally boring and anaemic product that tests the loyalty of supporters. Even more worrying is the leadership of the club. Unprofessional in every aspect, lacking in direction and an understanding of what it takes to run a football club. Simply surviving in Division One an achievement for the club as things stand, but even that might be beyond this current regime. Talk of moving higher up the football ladder ludicrous.

When a manager starts talking along the lines that he can't address the problems within a squad you know you are in trouble. We saw it with Tisdale and with Barton in the last relegation season and now we are hearing similar messages from MT. When a manager gives up on a squad of players then the players will soon give up on the manager,
Yes Barton had to go for both footballing and off-field issues, I thought MT would turn it round. Sad to see him give up on a squad he praised so highly on joining us.
Feel let down by MT and the players in equal measure. As in our last relegation season the failure to fill the positions we knew we were weak has cost us dear.

I don’t think we are going down. But today is as an eye opener Not a single motivational player out there. Not one leader. No captains. Worry MT can’t motivate them either. Whoever gave Evans the MoM must have been his mum. Worst player on the pitch even a cracking goal couldn’t hide. Has he given up? Too much pressure? Misses his mate Azza. Worried. Marquis is done for me. Gave him lots of benefits of the doubt but that was pathetic today. Hope Taylor and Finley get fit soon.

Just worrying that we have to rely mainly on 30+ Martin , and Taylor , ( Martin unlucky not to score midweek btw ) , and we look as if we cant be bothered.
In answer to the question we should have enough points on the board , but last year we limped to 17th under Barton and this year could be the same.
MT's needs to prove himself quick , even with the injuries. UTG

MotM often goes to the goalscorer, you sense they just pick the easy option. Although apart from Conteh I'm not really sure anybody played any better, Evans also had our only other decent effort on goal.

Could be yes but the thing that worries me is when MT did his introduction clip on the BRFC channel it showed him talking to the squad and saying he only took this job because he believed that this is a very talented bunch of players and already in such a short period of his time in charge he's quickly dismantled the squad and our style of play so he's clearly not overly keen on most of our squad now. Personally I think he's already lost the dressing room and the players are not buying into his style of football and he's desperately wanting the summer rebuild to come quicker than it will but if he's not careful he could be in real trouble.

This squad have taken 4 points off of Pompey won at Bolton, played Barnsley off the park at home & done the double over Charlton. All teams that are either top 6 or heavily backed to be so in Aug. Obviously Charlton is the exception but we've proved we can beat or at least match the best teams in this league. The ability is there but missing Taylor, Ward, Finley & Martin makes us so much weaker. If those 4 play the majority of the final 15 games we'll be fine. Taylor has to be given time, what's the point in handing him a long contract if you're not going to let him build. If we can pick up 9 points over the next month & its allowed I'd be recalling Greenslade, Jones & Lawrence, what's the point in giving them 1 year contracts & sending them out on loan to potentially develop them for someone else. If the club think they will make it give them 2 years & get them back in pre season ready to challenge for a place next season otherwise why keep them on ??

It is disappointing to note your disappointment. You must be so disappointed to have to post this disappointing post. Every other of your 15 posts over the last 8 years have been so so so very very very positive. NOT. Can you remember your very first ever post on this forum on February 27th 2016 ? You began it by stating: "Darrell is definitely not the man to take us on the journey we hope to make." You ended that first ever post by claiming: "Clarke will stay until the end of the season but feels like a dead man walking." Did you make some correct assertions that particular day? I do like to read your posts.

A reality check every so often is neither alarm bells nor impending doom, it's a healthy thing to concentrate the minds.
One thing I do feel, though, is that we can't keep having a massive overhaul every summer, be that players, managers, or even owners.
At some point, we need to accept that a manager is in place and back him with signings, coaching staff and other facilties.
At the moment, MT is the owner's choice and let's be honest, we don't and can't know if that will be a good thing, only time will tell. He has to have a full season (short of a massive loss of confidence).
The owners really need to step up PDQ and deliver at least a new East stand and improve The Quarters. A 15,000 capacity with 10,000 seats should be fine for a while if funds are tight for a complete revamp.
Other off field improvements need to start coming on stream including communications, admin, catering, etc.
In terms of players, as I said above we need to stop the wholesales changes, 13 new players was it last summer? I was hoping we'd get another two long term prospects in January but that didn't happen.
In my mind, we should have a First XI group of about 16-18 then a Second XI of U23s and Youth Team graduates, a bit like we did under DC and Wael.
Looking at the possible 2024/25 squad below, I would like us to bring in no more than 6-8 players for squad cohesion, but they need to be genuine starters and not bodies to pad out the numbers. We have the January window to do that.
First XI
J Ward
New Taylor New
Thomas Conteh G Ward New
Evans
New New
Pool of substitutes
Matt Hall
James Wilson James Connolly Luca Hoole Lewis Gordon
Sam Finley Luke McCormick Lawrence Jones Josh Grant
Jevani Brown Scott Sinclair Greenslade
Others will be better placed than me to judge the individuals, no doubt many won't be good enough or need moving on for personal reasons.

No. Last week after Exeter we were going to be fighting for a play off spot. That was as unlikely as this weeks meltdown is. We are a straightforward mid table side in a poorish League 1 this season. This week has beeen disappointing. Hopefully we will turn the tables next week.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course but well done to Sherlock (Sir Trevor) for pointing out the negativity.
UTG!

I'm glad Sir Trevor enjoyed reading my post through what are obviously rose-coloured spectacles. I haven’t mastered infallibility with my opinions yet, and his score predictions would indicate that he is falling somewhat short too. I sincerely hope we pull out of this nose-dive quickly but any discerning fan can see the club is in trouble at all levels.

Our form guide over the last 8 games put us 20th we must have built up a points cushion to the teams below us, which games can you see us winning out of the next half a dozen fixtures after this weeks 2 home losses: Stevenage (a) Northampton (a) Carlisle (h) Leyton Orient (h) (top of the form table) Derby (h) Unless Finley &/or Taylor suddenly get fit and we then improve you can only really see the Carlisle game as possibly winnable.
