Martin won’t get noticed for the assist to Thomas, brilliant link up play, completely took the defender away and created the space for Thomas

Three goals of real quality all round. I agree about Martin’s work for the first goal, but also Conteh’s crisp pass for the second, Evans’ surging run and cross, Martin’s desire to be first to that ball, Thomas’ work for the last goal and of course two fantastic finishes from Evans and Thomas. The difference between those goals and how tentative we looked for the two Stevenage goals is interesting. Loads of potential if we can get the defence/system sorted.

Both Stenevage goals have Steve Evans written all over them. Just pump it into the box and bundle it in. I know the man gets results but it certainly isn't pretty.

Don't know if this is typical of them but its a fair tactic against us. Any manager watching our last few matches would quickly work out that we are very disorganised at the back when long balls drop into the box. New players without a working relationship and a rookie keeper. Totally different goals to ours which were pass and move pretty Barcelona style but what do I know 🙂

Trying to be as non bias as possible, but have to say the Conteh decision looks dubious to me, I was at the game and he got caught out slightly but made up good ground to get a challenge in, there were at least two or three challenges with potential for a foul/card on the night waved away by the ref from both teams?

Talking of highlights, it’s really annoying that iFollow now take ages to upload the extended highlights and full match replay. With the time difference I always prefer to watch our match in full the following morning (without finding out the score first) for midweek games but now this season only the short highlights are available the following morning. Even now they still haven’t uploaded the extended highlights or full match replay from last night.

Conteh for me was man of the match again last night. He was absolutely everywhere and started the movement for the equaliser. Hes such an intelligent player, is strong, tackles well, passes the ball simply and effectively. His second yellow was an absolute joke. Shoulder to shoulder and the Steveage bloke fell over.

Strange one, I scrolled through the full match highlights for our goals 7am this morning first thing.

Hope we can keep them together with the likes of Jed Ward and Connor Taylor and add for next season.

Complemented Evans perfectly. I can't remember an all action display like that for a long time? I know it's early days but this lad looks like he has it all. If he continues into next season I'd be looking to tie him down for years. Shame about the pathetic ref who couldn't wait to send him off for two of the softest yellows you'll ever see, Stevenage excellent at screaming and falling over. Well drilled by thier manager in that sense. Worse tackle of the night on Martin didn't even get a foul.

Top notch goals from Thomas and Evans. Good build up play for the equaliser and Martin is 3 yards behind the man marking him when the cross is made so did brilliantly with his movement to just nip in ahead of that defender and made it look an easy finish when it really wasn’t.

I’m still trying to figure out which body part he used to turn it in? Head, knee, side foot? Or did he just let it hit him and hope for the best?😄 Ah who cares, they all count.

Can’t comment too much as I didn’t see any of the match but the difference between our goals and the Stevenage ones is stark when you see those two minute highlights. Our goals as you say, real quality all round. Their goals, high balls into the box and our defenders didn’t deal with either. I’d say poor defending esp as we would have known that is what Stevenage do. Perhaps Connor T would have made a difference but even so defenders should be able to deal with those. For both goals there must have been 5/6 aerial headers and I’m not sure we won one of them. Disappointing. But a great comeback to show real resilience and fighting spirit. Mind you it was important to get that first goal so soon after their second. UTG!

It's shocking that you can't appeal two yellow cards, so he has to miss the next game! He's Taylor's only permanent signing so far, hopefully the rest will be as effective as him!!
