Not an easy job I'm sure, but as proved yesterday a job well done.

Respectively, disagree.
Freedom of speech however stupid should always win the day, but that's my easy to say personal stance.
To keep it in context, rules of the forum which we all subscribe to were broken, so in that sense I reluctantly agree well done mods.....but I so wish there was more education and engagement to show the correct way if that sort of vile post rears it's ugly head again.
Prohibition rarely works.

I’m very much a free speech advocate. This is a forum, not a public institution. Mods are free to ban for whatever.
Saying something non-PC like “I dislike this aspect of migration blah” is very different to singling out OUR OWN PLAYERS on the basis of their skin.
The difference is with me and others on here, is I am happy enough for a ban but I don’t want him, and others like him, arrested and prosecuted. That is where the free speech argument is.
Neither, if he is anonymous and not in work time, do I think he should lose his job.
It’s the difference between being generally for the right thing, but also against what I consider totalitarianism. For a quick virtue signal, I’m all over the right of people to say what they wish without fear of criminal action but I heard a guy in the east stand use a term for Ellis H and I was the only one, me, a bit of a right winger, to have the balls to tell him to pipe down. Challenge. That’s the right way, not sneak off and get the guards to sieze him!
This is the healthy balance. Well done mods

It was good to see the poster get called out by lots on here, in no uncertain terms, and maybe that's the best response to discriminatory comments like that. A ban is fair enough too though. That poster had been vocal in wanting JCH here, so maybe not a complete racist just perhaps ignorant of what's acceptable here and in real life. Prejudice and discrimination is a tricky subject, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have ingrained prejudices and need to be aware of why I do and not to act on them. For the record, I thought Gordon was ok yesterday and gets more stick than he deserves. Jevani Brown too. Brown was rated a 7.3 by FotMob, our 2nd highest behind Martin on 7.4. It was a low bar admittedly but did match what I watched yesterday.

The forum has very few rules which to abide by and as we've said before, we treat this place like a pub. In a pub pretty much anything goes, any topic can be discussed and debated and anyone can have an opinion.
However these are the rules.
Rule 1.
Don't be a dick. If you're a dick, where you constantly throw your weight around, wind people up, or picking on someone, you'll be asked to leave or well turf you out for a period of time and hopefully you can rehabilitate yourself.
Rule 2.
Don't partake in or spread anything that is humanly repugnant, eg, racism or any other form of marginalisation. It will be an instant ban without any warning or appeal. We just won't tolerate it.
This isn't curtailing or limiting free speech, it's promoting human decency.

Was it the post about ladyboys and black players? If so,I'm not sure I understand what it meant and why everyone is going mad about it. It was a post that literally made no sense to me. 🤣 🤣

Prohibition rarely works. This board is provided by Proboards who have fairly straightforward terms of use that as Admin I'm directly responsible for upholding and Mods are appointed to ensure we adhere to the terms of use. You are not allowed to promote hate, advocate discrimination or incite violence on any Proboards platform, it would get the forum shut down.

Probably best we don’t find out anything more than “it seems our black players….”
Good riddance.

There have been two posts in the last couple of days that to me demonstrate rascism.
The post yesterday about black players.
The post yesterday or Friday that in the last sentence said the new owners should go back home.
Both were called out, both should have got a ban.

If it’s any consolation I’m married to someone of another race (brought up there not here) and they most certainly have their inbuilt prejudices and also aspects they admire about us. I had to work harder. They have a view that we are cheaters and leave our families so her uncles grilled me HARD and it took a lot of work to be accepted. It’s the same for everyone. We need to beat ourselves up less because we are actually one of the better places on planet earth for being equal with people. Our main issue is compared to most of the world we aren’t that hospitable, we just treat everyone equally crappy, including our own!

Interesting takes going on here (and originally in Matchday Tread). I’m half Irish (mum’s half) and when I was growing up saw signs in Totterdown lettings saying “No Jews, No Blacks, No Irish”. Plus variations substituting Pets or Dogs for Jews and more offensive words for blacks. This upset me quite a lot and caused issues at home when I asked my parents why people were banning various groups. Dad’s English views were different to Mum’s Irish ones and religion started to rear its ugly head.
Now these signs are illegal - but they weren’t back then. Thank goodness we have moved on as a society but be aware that not everyone has. I was once accused of being unaware of my prejudice by a West Indian mate, to which I countered that he was the one being blind and that I had always been aware of my prejudice towards him and treated him according, I.e. extra protective as well as watching which words I used. I also pointed out my prejudice against the Welsh (generally) with the exception of our common mate JJ.
Being aware of our prejudices helps deal with them. Being called out for them is also a great help. Freedom of speech is a cornerstone of our society that is currently under threat imo so I don’t like prohibition but there are lines that shouldn’t be crossed.
Well done Mods

Freedom of speech is a myth.
People are still free to say whatever they like.
What isn't is the consequences of exercising that freedom.
There are consequences to words and actions.
Often when people complain about having their freedom of speech denied, what they really mean is that they don't like what happens once they have said or done something society no longer tolerates.
