It’s something to be pleased about as far I can can tell. When he took over we weren’t going to get any more money from Higgs and his board - they didn’t have any more to give from what we know. And we weren’t fending off buyers either. Wael promised much but ultimately for one reason or another they didn’t come to much. However he did stabilise the club, pay off debt and keep us going. He put a lot of money into it and certainly more than I could ever imagine. If those who criticise want to put their vast fortunes into the club then be my guest but until they do I’ll be happy to let others do it. With that type of attitude Rovers will never progress from a mid table L1 side, I can't recall any of us begging Wael to get involved at Rovers, he did it all of his own free will.

We’re not exactly fighting off the investors through. It’s not lack of ambition from me - I’d love Rovers to progress. But I don’t have the money so I’ll just have to wait for the right investor to come along. Maybe you have the cash and could invest it in the club.

Are the rates of the two loans public knowledge? We also have something tangible as a result, which I'd say is better. The usual rubbish from gaschat speculators who claim to be in the know. Perhaps they would like to tell us the interest rates rather than keep us wondering? If you knew people who worked in finance then you’d know that the company we have used are high interest. Quite funny everyone’s jumped on me…I never said there was anything wrong with it. Just pointed out a simple fact…..

Has he got it all right? No. Some very questionable managerial appointments for sure! But by and large I think we have a huge amount to be thankful for.

Just pointed out a simple fact….. And that company is? Nationwide finance Ltd. It’s all on companies house , Bideford. Not hard to find them (and no it’s not the high street bank). As I said, I haven’t said it’s a bad thing and I understand why we took the loan but it’s in black and white that we have a loan with a company who charge a decent wedge of interest. Therefore we still have one now 👍🏻

I had a good gut feeling about him from day one and I feel we’re in better shape now than we were when he bought the club. He clearly couldn’t achieve everything he wanted to whilst he was our majority shareholder but I’ve generally been pleased with what he has achieved. We’re still a little short of where we should be for a club our size and the biggest part of that is we never got a new stadium but he has got the ball rolling regarding improving the Memorial stadium and now hopefully our new majority shareholder can continue to keep bringing us forwards. It’s difficult of course as every other club is trying the same thing so getting ahead of similar sized rivals such as Oxford and Peterborough is a challenge. Small steps sure but we have taken them over the last 8 years. When I think back to the unaffordable mess Higgs got us in to prior to Wael it makes me shudder.

The UK’s number one direct business loans company according to all the advertising, trust pilot overall 5 star reviews and it would appear nobody challenging them on their claims, certainly not the 50000 customers a year who use them it would appear and all quite happy to pay whatever the interest rates they charge. It would appear to me our owners are quite happy to use them so why should I doubt them and I would suggest probably 99.9% would probably agree. It would appear to me that the very same doubters who called Wael a fake sheik are now lining up against our new majority shareholders and claiming they are selling us down the river. The very same doubters whom conveniently forgot that their hero Nick Higgs took out a huge payday loan to fight Sainsbury’s on his so called watertight contract failed court case. At least Wael in his eight years with us has delivered our training ground and in his attempts to improve us ran up debts which he has covered for that period and has brought in our new investors having spoken to several other individuals who had wanted to takeover our club. Personally I’m quite happy to trust him to do the best for our club and unlike a few on here have total confidence we will have our Rovers long after I’m gone. None of us know where we will be in a few years time but I’m still hopeful of better times even after supporting the club for the last 67 years since I was 7 years old.

If that’s the case you know full well who the fake sheik haters were and dare I say still are and were members of Nick Higgs fanclub.

Certainly seems legit and a reasonable route to take. Whilst the idea of having loans under Wael and NH is true at a superficial level, we are comparing apples and oranges in terms of their circumstances.

Problem is none of us now know who Wael has handed the club over to, they could be similar to Wael or they could just see us as a cash cow. I sense the fact Wael's not attending the Q&A means that he's no longer going to take an active part in running the club.
