Fleetwood beat PV just before Crosby got the sack, since those two wins they've reverted back to relegation form. If we can't beat Carlisle, assuming Conteh plays, then you do have to wonder where our next win will come from. If we don't beat Carlisle then we would have collected 3-4 points from Fleetwood Burton Northampton Stevenage Carlisle. That can only be described as a ' horror show ' even by the most positive optimistic and excited Gashead . Can’t argue with this but think we’ll get a win Saturday .I’d set up very attacking and take the game to them rather than trying to play it safe. Attack being the best form of defence.

And move the ball quickly playing with two players wide on each side rather than a wing backs slow motion tippy tappy game .

Don't fancy us at all to be honest. Hope i'm wrong. Carlisle will be scrapping for their lives, the exact type of team we struggle against. We only have Conteh in the middle, with a couple of ringers. Probably take a draw now. I'm hoping that being 12 points from safety with 14 games left and having lost 4-0 at home on Saturday they won't be up for the fight, but of course if they get the first goal........to manage people's expectations, it wouldn't be unusual for Carlisle to score first and yet still be beaten - against Leyton Orient and Barnsley recently (both away) they scored first and lost.

Agree with the 'take the game to them Yatton' but sadly I think Taylor will be so sh** scared about conceding first we will see a truly awful nervous display and as that continues Carlisle will grow into the game and gain confidence. Last twenty minute shoot out to see who can steal something. Taylor will be delighted with a clean sheet and one point - That is the mess we are in now. All that said - An early goal and we might just batter them. Preparing for the first scenario though.

Thought we were lucky to win there.Like the long journey to meet friends who are keen Carlisle fans. They are not happy with their new owners and doubt they will bring many at all on Sat. My mates used to alternate between them and Gretna who swept all before them due to a wealthy investor from Newcastle. When they got promoted to the Scottish Prem the FA wouldn't let them play at their ground so they rented Motherwell and the owner paid for all the supporters coaches. They even reached the Scottish Cup Final where Hearts beat them.Sadly the owner died and they have long gone. Also recall going there (Carlisle) when we could have called it off due to International call ups but DC chose to play it and we lost 3.2.Snakey and Billy Bob scoring.Liam Lawrence came on but never actually moved!!!!!!

The trouble with playing clubs on long loosing run is you know we are good at ending such runs. That said, if the players are willing to run a bit and put in some effort and concentrate and go in level or one up at half time then we get a result.

It doesn’t belong here but I see Neil Harris has left Cambridge after about 2 months to join milwall. Pretty poor from him even by today’s standards. Some we’re disappointed we didn’t go in for him Makes me think there are no good or bad managerial appointments, just lucky and unlucky ones!

A central pairing of Vale and Conteh might be enough to see us get 3 points. Hopefully they'll both start.

Nobody back from injury for this game, so only Conteh returning to the squad.

Assuming last week's training video was taken last week, how can Ward be still no nearer being fit.
MT's talking about it taking a "few windows" to get the squad right, hasn't he noticed that half the L1 managers have already left this season, it seems managers now only get a couple of windows to build a decent squad.

Ward just put a post on insta saying “almost there”. Hopefully back in squad after Carlisle

Eleven years ago today I met up with my Carlisle friends at Morecambe. They hadn't been there before so they wanted to tick it off.We drew 1-1 and Elliot scored a cracker. They had one superb stand but it was only three sided.

It’ll play out like a cup tie versus the plucky non leaguers, first goal is imperative and as early as possible. The longer it goes on at 0-0 the more they’ll fancy it.
7 consecutive losses, we have to win this one. Nothing else acceptable. Even whilst depleted in the middle last week we had our fair share of the ball in attacking areas. Get young Vaughn wide and hugging the touchline, get at them and that ball in the box right on Chrissy’s swede.
We need the crowd up for it from the off, but I won’t hold my breath on that one.

Harrison Neal and Luke Armstrong are two of the few players the Carlisle United fans are fully behind.
Carlisle are used to conceding the first goal in games.
As long as they don't get a boost from scoring first we are likely to win this match.

I like it very topical. 👍 Let’s hope they don’t produce an out of this world performance and we have a decent atmosphere.
