We couldn’t have sold him against his will so not sure how that would have helped. He was the master of his own destiny and there was nothing we could do about it. We get the benefit of signing players from other clubs under the same circumstances - some people don’t like the system but it’s better than pre Bosman when clubs could effectively hold players as hostages. Posh very nearly got a £1m for JCH, who knows what we might have got if we'd transfer listed him. We always seem to let the players call the shots, even AC messed about for the last year or so. We could have agreed a fee with any club in the world but if TL didn’t want to join them and was completely committed to running down his contract to become a free agent there is nothing at all we could do about it. It’s not us “letting the player call the shots” it’s the football laws that allow any player at any club call the shots. Quite right too if they’ve completed their fixed contract of employment.

How do you know TL was completely committed to running down his contract, perhaps if we'd told him he'd be sat on the bench for a full season then he might not have been so committed.

I don’t know for certain that he was 100% committed to leaving which is why I said IF. I could throw the same silly argument back your way and ask how do you know he wasn’t if you want to go down the panto route. He’d turned down several offers of an extension and the club knew he was planning to leave as a free agent. The biggest clue that he was planning to leave as a free agent was that HE DID.

Posh and Oxford seem to usually get decent fees, I still can't understand how the former got £m's for Mason-Clarke then got him back on loan until the end of the season, meanwhile AC went for just £750K. Bodin seemed to go just as cheaply as the snake? I'm not sure how we let Lockyer leave on a free, why didn't the club transfer list him when we knew he intended running down his contract? We couldn’t have sold him against his will so not sure how that would have helped. He was the master of his own destiny and there was nothing we could do about it. We get the benefit of signing players from other clubs under the same circumstances - some people don’t like the system but it’s better than pre Bosman when clubs could effectively hold players as hostages. Tom played a blinder and knew any money saved on a transfer fee from his next club would be part of a signing on fee for him. Think he waited till he was 24 and got the best deal for himself. Good luck to the lad. Let’s not get confused and bash Rovers for not receiving a penny.

So JCH’s Peterborough career ended tonight… Just saying I see he was thrown on for the last 20 mins so obviously Ferguson thinks he can still do a job. I wonder where he'll go? 🤔

In similar circumstances Posh would have put him on the transfer list, just saying.

I wonder where he'll go? 🤔 My money is on Wrexham. They will be able to support his wage demands more than us. I don't want him back at Rovers, it would be a step backwards.

Money aside, I would be absolutely gobsmacked if we got a better striker in than JCH i'd take him in a heartbeat and I know the fans would love him and he'd love being back here

Can't see MK turning around a 3-0 so it should be a Creepy v's Crewe Final. Who do we want ?

Impressed with Crawley, played these two legs perfectly so far.

Winning 8-1 on aggregate though has to be a shock especially with the way MK finished the season.

Blimey! In the MKD v Crawley match it’s hard to know who were worse MKD or the officials. 3 Crawley goals offside, missed by the linesman, a pen for MKD not given and when they actually got a penalty half the Crawley team in the box when he missed. Just reminded me how bad the officials in Div 4 are.
UTG!
