Its alright, we've got a massive sheet. That'll do. I think the issue as mentioned before is that the first exit from the stand goes down to an area that can be gated off. However the 2nd (or maybe the 3rd, principle is the same) exit onwards goes down to the concourse past that gate and doesn't allow for segregation Been in the south stand the last two games and away fans are fenced off from the rest of the concourse. Yes, there is a big gate. The issue is where is that gate. You can segregate on the stand with a piece of cloth. There are 5 exits from the stand, down to the concourse. At the moment, the cloth is in such a way that exit 2 (counting from the away end) can only be used by home fans. So the question is: If you are going to have more away fans, how can you do that in such a way that the away fans cannot get access to exit 2 as that opens up after the concourse segregation, so will mixed the home and away fans down on the concourse.

An "off the shelf" modular stand that doesnt have this seem a big miss or mistake

Given how many pages over all those debating years were devoted to it, it was a shock. Abdullatif was scathing in his dismissal of the whole project. The developer "was never interested" in a Stadium, only flats and houses. My conclusion is that we were strung along by the developer, as BCC support for a stadium might have benefitted the developer in facilitating the project. The narrative of a new Stadium kept Rovers fans off Wael's back, who did not have the finance to make this a reality, even after selling Mem. Whatever you say about the new owners, their clear-headedness about the Mem maybe the best thing that has happened in years. The plans are at least realistic and have a time frame attached. There is no guarantee that we will succeed. But I don't think that they will bull***t us either along the way. Abdullatif seemed quite energised to have questions, because he wanted to convey "the devil in the detail". Makes you wonder what Wael was up to all this time as he mooched around pretending to the fans it was a goer. I know he's untouchable to some but I'm beginning to think serious questions need to asked about his track record. I realise he pumped in money. But he's got all that back now, as he probably intended to. If CI were never interested in a stadium why did they release a statement suggesting they have entered into "meaningful talks" with Rovers? www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-rovers-fruit-market-stadium-8743199Although the suggestion we will always own the Mem is something rather leasing the FM makes perfect sense to me. I just wonder where this leaves Wael as Abdiiatif, and to lesser extent TG, were quite scarthing in the lack on investment at the Mem under Wael's ownership, apparently they even had to spend £150K on new ovens and it seems most of the Fan Zone income goes to the organisers.

Just a thought. Has anyone seen the adverts for "The Nest" Norwich City's training facilities. They host tournaments for teams (mainly youngsters from across the world) with accommodation on site , lecture and conference facilities etc. Just wondered how much additional income that generates for Norwich City and whether it's something we could look at to make use of land and provide additional income. You've just confessed to watching GB News you rogue! Just like me....... I don' t think The Nest is advertised anywhere else? GeeBeebies 🙄🇬🇧

I think 25 years or more without investment was mentioned? Certainly a specific dig about DC talking infrastructure and nothing happening was in Wael’s tenure. However (and it’s a big however) the aim under Wael was always declared as A NEW STADIUM. Even the South Stand was announced as a stop gap till the new stadium, be it FM or elsewhere, was ready. I’m forever grateful to the Al Qadi family (and Wael in particular) for keeping us in existence. I’m glad he’s still involved.
Has he got all his money back as some claim? Doesn’t look like it to me?
Good luck to the Al Saeeds! UTG!

Going Cat 1 with the Academy. The club needs to apply and reach Cat 2 status first.

You attended the meeting, didn't you find the comments regarding Wael a bit odd given that he still owns a sizable amount of DS/Rovers?
I can't recall TG ever speaking up in the past and suggesting that Wael should be spending more on the club's infrastructure?

What do you mean by this? We take 25% of any takings by the concessions. That’s why it all has to be electronic payments so the club can’t be fiddled. Also hence why it’s quite expensive!

I thought it was suggested that Abdullatif needed to meet the organiser to discuss what was owed? Plus it seems it's being brought in-house anyway, although that sounds easier said than done.

It is their community sports foundation charity so a lot of the build cost covered by charity grants etc. Any profits are put into providing free courses, coaching, etc for their local community. Ummm... how about this for an idea... if Rovers training ground gets planning permission for some houses then the developers would pay a fee to the council towards local community facilities... how about if that money went to Rovers community sports foundation charity... to have a facility on the training ground for the local community?

When you said organisers, you mean't the trader? If the 25% is of Sales then that is a pretty good deal and bringing it in-house might be a mistake. If the 25% is of Profit then bringing it in house makes sense. The bit we also found out is that Jerk King is Jerking the club by not paying over what is due.

Using music festivals as an example such deals are typically a percentage of gross sales, a flat fee or a combination of both. Percentage only deals typically vary between 10% to 25%. If a vendor is paying more than 25% of their gross income towards the cost of their pitch then it might not be worth it for the vendor.

If that’s the case regarding the electronic payments, can you explain my burger bar by choice is run by supreme catering who take their money via bank transfer. My fifty fifty tickets are taken from my bank by Bristol Rovers. I think you will find Rovers charge the outside caterers a set fee. That is obviously changing next season as the club have stated at the recent meeting all catering is to be taken in house.

He said 25% of takings go to club and same with the other traders. He could have been fibbing but why would he?

I would guess they have to provide statements to Rovers and then pay the agreed fee/percentage based on those statements. If so, pretty clever by Rovers, test the market with others taking the risk, get most of the sales data (potentially including sales by time as well as almost certainly by game) and - depending on their small print - all this information is for free with the vendors taking any and all risks

I went. First things first, the owners son is called Abdullatif. Maybe out of respect, fans should get that right. Can confirm: Two tier Thatchers was mentioned. Safe standing mentioned, not terracing (there is a difference and that will be connected to pricing, my comment not Abdullatif's). They want the business of the Blue Diamond and the former players group to come back to the club. They were a bit shocked that those organisations existed and were using the cricket ground. Obviously some argument in the past between the two groups and the club. I don't know any more than that. Going for tier 1 academy for a couple of reasons: 1) Attract local talent 2) Turn that talent into first teamers and revenue stream 3) Remove the premium we are apperently paying for loan players Blue Diamond group left the Mem as they hiked their price to make staying there uneconomical
