with all due respect what's a 31 year old plasterer going to learn about chasing a 19 year old round a training ground for an hour and a half? The only favour being done would be by the NL side. Well...might give an insight on how to play against other 19 year olds of a lesser ability. If you recall ,i also mentioned q and a and training session . The player may learn how to improve either skill or fitness. Unless of course they are confident they can do absolutely nothing to improve themselves. There are other people involved lets not forget, like managers coaches directors etc . They may feel its an opportunity to learn and improve (?) Like i said its about the whole package. Never going to happen anyway If you've ever spoken to NL players about things like the County Cup against pro clubs very few enjoy the experiences. If they want an insight on how to play against a 19 year old with less ability, they'll do it in their league.

You would have hope the clubs had more ambition than some of the players. Might explain why the south west is a football desert success wise.

It's nothing to do with a lack of ambition, I just don't see how or why any NL players would want to work a full time job then head to Rovers training ground to chase a load of kids for an hour and a half without a chance of winning a cup, league or promotion. The best Semi-Pro club in the area have played 53 games including pre-season, they have more than a sniff of the playoffs, why on earth would they go "Yeah, let's play a 90 minute match in a field to help Brandon Aguilera build his fitness?". The ambition surely is preserving a squad for a tilt at promotion? Maddening.

With no game because of international call ups, maybe some fans might fancy a trip to the seaside and could take in Torquay v high fliers Hampton and Richmond.
Another financially struggling SW team, Taunton are home v another top team Chelmsford, plus they have a derby v WSM on Thursday.
Loads of game for Taunton to play now, due to loads of postponed games, including the home game v Torquay after beating them 3-0 away recently. Amazing result when you think of how far they were apart in the pyramid not long ago.
Alternatively, some may support DC and Cheltenham v JCH.
Not quite what the OP suggested, but the Gas fans can help in some way.
