Perhaps chewbacca has been in “prison “ for the last four years, hence not being able to watch the Rovers?

I know TG has a bit of a habit of making mistakes before getting things right. But he has still helped us get a purpose built training ground, new bars and a proper sports shop as well as the construction of a 3,400 seater stand , the first time we have had a decent sized permanent stand built in the 50 years I have been supporting the club. So he hasn't done a bad job really and the owners seem to think he is doing ok, if they didn't he would not be at the club. As for Wael, well he purchased a piece of land some of which is within the District Housing plan, this land has not only allowed the club to start building it's own training ground, but means that sale of some of the land for housing will allow more funds to improve the clubs structure including development of the Mem. I would say that is very good business. We know these points to be correct because we can see and feel the evidence. The accusations don’t have such solid backing even though I believe at least some have substance. However, are they all of TG’s doing? Using terms like “Wally” and “Prison” loses credibility rather than gains imo and whilst admiring the ability to take a stance I agree with others that the only person missing out is Chewbacca. Please don’t miss out on supporting our team because of one or even a few individuals - they will move on, hopefully The Club will still be here (and we owe Wael for that imo).

I could say I've stayed away for the past 5 years as I take offence to the shape of the sausage rolls, but we all know thats bollox.

My last game was the 15th of February 2020 when we beat Blackpool 2-1 at The Mem thanks to goals by Alfie Kilgour and Josh Ginelly. Alfie's was a banger.

Toms a lot of things but stupid isn’t one of them.
I suspect he was against the appointment of Barton but he seen what was happening to the last CEO when they tried to convince Wael that the spend needed to stop and Barton should be dismissed.
Once in the role he will have known that going against Barton or Jennings meant losing your job.
There have also been some very questionable treatment of ex employees and supporters groups under Tom’s watch. There’s nothing wrong with “progress” but there is something wrong with treating people badly.
If Tom’s feeling a little left out/under pressure/poorly treated then some could argue that karma works in mysterious ways.
Overall I think he’s been a pretty average commercial director and a pretty average CEO even if he is a nice bloke when you approach him.

He isn't stupid, but divisive. A former coach at Brighton with past Rovers connections will tell you that. In fact when he left Brighton his commercial department colleagues held a farewell celebration party to which he wasn't invited. As for his treatment of former staff and how he dealt with it has cost the club a lot of money in compensation. He's no longer CEO but club representative just attending matches, not much need for that after the Wigan away game.

He certainly knew how to get himself up the ladder when Wael was the man calling the shots and that’s what I meant by he isn’t stupid. Tom looks after Tom, there’s little wrong with that and it’s no different to the blithering idiot Hamer or the hapless buffoon Starnes.

It's a very Rovers thing to look at someone being crap and going "Well at least they're not as crap as the other crap we've had" instead of wanting better. When I criticise WAQ "Oh, but he's better than Higgs"... So what, the bar was on the floor, they've all been dreadful. No one has been good at running this club since we bought The Mem! Painful.

I'll reply once then get back to my life. Barton was appointed in Feb 21. 3 (not 4) years ago. As for him, was completely against his appointment for all the same reasons as many. I'd never say he was easy to like, as he wasn't/isn't. After the Swindon (?) defeat, he allegedly offered to resign. A shame that offer wasn't accepted. However, he turned things around and gave us a great few months of a season and a glorious, unforgettable final day. The football was electrifying for that period. He had to go when he did and am glad to see the back of him. He was never my mate, or whatever nonsense you imply. Anyway, have fun pretending to be King Solomon.
