He isn't stupid, but divisive. A former coach at Brighton with past Rovers connections will tell you that. In fact when he left Brighton his commercial department colleagues held a farewell celebration party to which he wasn't invited. As for his treatment of former staff and how he dealt with it has cost the club a lot of money in compensation. He's no longer CEO but club representative just attending matches, not much need for that after the Wigan away game. Odd then that Abdullatif allowed TG to give a totally different view of his position during the Q&A, as it was pretty clear from that meeting he relies a lot on TG for resolving the day to day issues at the club.

You are to some extent correct Horfield, a former manager of ours who was a coach at Brighton at the same time as TG came to one of our games a few seasons back and wasn't that impressed by TG. But some of the things he has done have been vindicated, the most major being construction of the South Stand without planning permission. There are planning laws regarding planning time lines and the City council broke them continuously which is why the government have now put them in special measures, city council applications have now to be decided by the governments planning inspectorate. I did say on here at the time and to TG that the club were doing the right thing by carrying on the building of the stand without permission, as the council had already broken the law,by not completing dealing with the application within the frame work. This is why the council did not put a stop on the work, as the planning department were in a mess and partly to blame for not dealing with the application correctly. If the club had waited for planning to sort things the stand may still not be completed by now.

The club could have just done what 99.99% of people do, just wait for pp before starting any work? Has the club really gained anything financially by not waiting until this summer to start the work?

Yes, cos if we started this summer it would be December before it is open. First few games always likely to be popular, and if we start well... then...

I doubt TG ploughed ahead last summer on the basis JB would be sacked and his replacement would start off better this summer. Clearly TG got it hopelessly wrong as the new co-owners have now suggested in future they intend getting pp before any further work commences on the ground.

Why is everyone talking as if TG was only person at the club. It's almost as if Wael would not have been involved at all, which is nonsense. As for TG being replaced, I can imagine the new owner just needed to find a position for his son and give him something to do. That was always going to be above anyone else at the club, not taking orders from TG or anyone else. Looking forward to a prosperous future under new regime.

People love to pretend their views are cancelled as they shout them out don’t they. 🤣

TG, not Wael, put his name on the planning application and it's clear from the Q&A that he's leading that project for the club.

If TG has been handed all things stadium development I look forward to improvements over the summer. Namely South Stand facilities fitted adequately under stand, Thatchers end temp toilet facilities sorted, refresh North and East stand turnstiles etc, tidy up of area behind away standing. West stand is rusting and could do with treatment/coat of paint.
If the club want to shift more season tickets at increased prices or attract new fans we need to put more effort into the facilities. We are competing with the s*** who have a premiership ready stadium, higher level of football and cheaper ticket prices. We need to put our own front foot forward.
Let's see how far we get!

The fact that none of this has been done is embarrassing and rightfully falls on the CEO. If he can’t manage a handyman, what chance have we got when it comes to negotiating contracts with player agents. TG is a failed commercial manager, he got lucky with Wael however it seems that luck is over with the new ownership structure. I wonder if Starnes will take him down to Taunton Town with him…..

They do? All stated in plural, do you know who these people are, their names perhaps? Why would most of us know their names, or even want to know them, it's not like we have day to day contract with them? You want to know everything else but not this, right

I don't share your opinion on this. We've waited for the full planning process to play through with the previous stadium development and with the Sainsbury's plans/UWE. In all cases PP was granted, but the delay meant that plans were shelved.
In this case, the decision to proceed in advance had the effect of forcing the planning approval and the South Stand got built. It's not a tactic that will work again, but it's delivered the best improvement to the Mem since Rovers took up residence. Was it by luck or judgement? I doubt we'll know, but I'm judging by results.

Completely agree, we wouldn’t be in by now and possibly still waiting for planning permission, if we ever got it.

Is that true? I think so. A stand of 3414 seats to replace the tent. Good views, better atmosphere. I'm not belittling the other developments - West Stand, North Terrace Roof, Family Terrace roof - but I think this is the best improvement yet. More to come.
I accept the opinion of others, but I like the Mem and its lack of uniformity.

Is that true? What has been the biggest improvement in your eyes then? I know you don’t like the South Stand and despite all the rain we had it never collapsed like you suggested it would.

The South Stand is undoubtedly the best ground improvement since we moved to The Mem, it's a pretty damning statement though.
