i thought that i heard that when Liverpool came in they were looking at both Larry Lloyd and Stuart Taylor and in the end decided on Larry. So he went onto win European cups and Stuart became Rovers record holder. Not sure who told me that - might have been Stuart himself

But I remember something along those lines as well. I’m pretty sure ST has mentioned it over the years. UTG!

Guessing I saw him play but too young to remember. My first game was winter of 68 v Tranmere. I do remember my dad and brothers all agreeing that Stuart Taylor missed out and could have or should have had this opportunity. Stuart never ever spoke of it but spoke a LL very fondly. I was very lucky to live close to many who played for us. Bobby Jones literally minutes away and coached us. I miss the days of truly local players. My sincere condolences to the family.
