This thread puts into some perspective the actual impact football at The Memorial Stadium has had on the Bristol community during this current season.
Bristol Rovers will have played 23 HOME LEAGUE matches during the 2023/2024 season.
14 of those fixtures will have been on a Saturday; nearly always kicking off at 1500 hours. Seven of the League games will have been on a Tuesday evening, usually starting at 1945 hours and 2 have been played on Holiday weekdays with a 1500 hours start.
Bristol Rovers have played 4 HOME CUP matches this season. One was at 1500 hours on a Saturday, one was a Wednesday evening and the others were on a Tuesday night match.
What does this demonstrate?
1. On average Bristol Rovers HOME matches take place ONCE PER FORTNIGHT.
2. On average Bristol Rovers HOME fixtures occur ONCE EVERY THIRD SATURDAY.
3. On average Bristol Rovers HOME EVENING games take place LESS THAN ONCE PER MONTH.
4. Bristol Rovers HOME matches only take place on 27 occasions out of the 365/6 days in each year.
5. Therefore on 338/9 days out of 365/6 in the year there is no football at The Memorial Stadium.
6. So on over 97% of the days each year there is no Bristol Rovers football match.
7. On the days that there is a football match the Bristol community is impacted from 2 hours before kick off to one hour after the end of the match.
8. Therefore on the 27 days in each year there is a HOME Bristol Rovers football match the impact is just 5 hours for 27 occasions. This is 135 hours per year.
9. There are 8,760 hours per year in total. For 8,625 hours per year there is no significant impact on the local community from Bristol Rovers matches.
10. Overall it demonstrates that the local community is impacted by HOME Bristol Rovers matches by between ONE and TWO percent of the total hours per year.
FINALLY
On each and every occasion that a HOME football match takes place at The Memorial Stadium the time and date of the event is widely publicised.
