Something needed to be done to stop the run of losses. Distribution not good enough for league one level yet. Can’t be no1 next season if we are serious about pushing on. Get the impression from Taylors post match we will be bringing in a new No.1 next season. Plenty of good GK becoming available on frees, including Cheltenham's

Get that guy pirate was banging on about in goal, Lawrence Vigouroux, he’s not touched a match day squad at Burnley for nearly a year. Wouldn’t cost us much on loan

Majority now not in favour of sacking the manager……. Rightfully.

Can we get behind our new manager now and stop this fickle knee jerk rubbish that’s the question. I’ve got to say I was surprised so many wanted him out after he’s steadied the ship pretty well in what has been a very turbulent season. We could still finish in the top half so let’s get behind him and the squad, help them to a decent finish, watch England win the Euros and look forward to next season.

The Cheltenham and Cambridge performances have given me hope that Taylor can set a team up adequately at this level - back to basics with players in their natural positions, less long ball and have actually looked to play passing football at times.
Changed my vote to No as I think we are crying out for on and off pitch stability. Hopefully over the summer we can keep Thomas and Evans and build a solid L1 squad around them.

I think we just need a couple more strikers ( Marquis to leave ) and a couple of wide men , preferably all with pace as that’s what we lack so badly. In midfield if Finley goes which I think he will then a midfield general / captain type to replace him and a centre half like Wilson but without the injury history. We’re not a million miles off in terms of ability but we’ve lacked pace and goal scorers all season. Barton built a side suited to a slow possession based game and at this level unless you have the absolute best squad simply won’t work , I’ve been saying it all season, we need pace and power too. I’d get Aguilara baggot and vale back again if possible too. Taylor had done ok but it’s impossible to really judge him until he’s had the summer to build his team.

Making Evo captain was a great idea, still, think he will join Azza if they go up.

if Azza cost £750k, in my eyes, Evo is worth over double. He is class. I could forgive him for wanting a new challenge, he's been down here for 3 years now and I wouldn't say we will be challenging next season.
At least £1.75m for Evo, I dont think Bolton have that kinda money.

It may have been a good thing for Evo's personal development and sense of responibility but i am not sure that either he or Finley before him are true captains and that has been our problem for much of the season. They may lead by example but Rossiter has shown in just 2 short games how a true captain should be loud and vocal - someone who can motivate the people around them and make sure that everyone knows their responsibility. I think that it was Stuart perce who commented that a good captain will still encorage and moan about poor passages of play from others - even when he is having a nightmare himself

Wow MT's replacement sacked, even though he has a L1 promotion to his name, and STEVE EVANS appointed as his replacement! Football eh

Maybe it’s not a good idea to do one of this polls just after a home defeat?

Yeah agree about the fickle bit, a few on here certainly fit that label. However, I think it’s more to do with Matt being here a good 5 months and many supporters just can’t see he’s the man to take us up a level, it all seems a bit meh both on the pitch and in interviews. I suppose if it’s just a bit of stability and settled we’re after he fits the bill, just don’t think he inspires many, not necessarily a criticism just feels like that 👍🏾

Of course its exciting to hear it the first time . maybe the second or even the third and then people start to realise that they have heard it all before and want to see something to back up the words- and often there is nothing. That is why certain managers jump in , save a club from relegation and then fail when they get the job full time. Surely we want a steady eddie who is going to build a team that progresses because of a consist way of playing that does not need constant motivation or ispiring speaches. We want someone who saves his talking for the pitch. You only have to look at Mc Kenna of Ipswich and ask yourself - does he have a personality that comes across as inspiring or motivating ? Its only when you see his results that you begine to realise that the guy knows his stuff
