So, who are we all hoping for then?
As expected, L1 does look like it'll be tougher next year with strong teams being relegated and promoted, as well as the teams going down from L1 looking a cut below the rest of the league.
Starting with the Championship we've got:
Millwall 50 Blackburn 49 Plymouth 48 QPR 47 Stoke 47 Birmingham 45 ------------ Huddersfield 44 Wednesday 44 R - Rotherham 23
Personally I think Plymouth and up are safe, I cant see 5 teams all picking up that many points. I'd love to have QPR and Birmingham tbh, would also be happy with Stoke too. Anyone but Wednesday & Huddersfield.
Down into L1:
Cambridge 46 (game in hand) Shrewsbury 46 Burton 43 ------------- Vale 40 Cheltenham 38 (game in hand) Fleetwood 37 R - Carlisle 30
Would love Cambridge & Cheltenham to stay up, the rest can go.
And down into L2:
P - Stockport 86 P - Wrexham 82 Mansfield 79 (game in hand) ------------ MK Dons 74 Crewe 70 Barrow 67 Crawley 65 ------------ Doncaster 64 Gillingham 63 Wimbledon 62 Walsall 62 Harrogate 62
A few games in hand across L2, it could massively shift in the race for the playoffs. Mansfield are all but up, so out of the play off chasers I'd have to go with someone like Crawley as its local-ish to London and they're probably the weakest team in terms of budgets and size. Would be happy with Wimbledon as well

A playoff final with Mk Don's vs Wimbledon would be fun to watch hope Wimbledon can make the playoffs and avoid them in the semis.

Can't imagine many neutrals would be backing Milton Keynes... ...in terms of the League Two playoffs, all four sides lost today. Then we have Crawley (7th) playing Barrow (6th) on Tuesday so there's definitely hope for the chasing pack.

Playoff chasing Aldershot losing 3-0 at home to relegation threatened Boreham wood

Mansfield have joined us, Fleetwood praying for miracles Something very satisfying about both Stockport County and Mansfield Town being above Wrexham in the table - I really hope Mansfield can stay second over the last couple of games.

FGR into non league, just like Yeovil, didn't mind them until their fans gave it the big'un and tried to instigate a rivalry with us, goodbye!

Really hope DC can keep Cheltenham up. Done a cracking job as they've looked dead and buried more than once

Jesus imagine Barrow in League 1, what a dump! Perhaps but it would be a far better story than Wrexham getting promotion (yawn). And a far bigger achievement. Not that the media would say so, with their obsession with celebrity. Pete Whild, their manager has done a great job. And I remember seeing them against us in Feb ‘22, we beat them 1-0 at the Mem but it took a worldie from Anthony Evans to beat them. I hope they do it but then I hope FGR avoid going out of the league and am pleased for Yeovil to be back on the way up. Their rivalry with us was just a reminder of how crap we were, not of how good they were. And that was uncomfortable!. UTG!

The Barrow manager has been given decent backing himself though, Cole Stockton and Dom Telford wont have come cheap

Whats with that Gillingham goal difference? Think it’s something to do with letting in more goals than they scored.
