Unbelievable that this was allowed to happen. Agreed - its total negligence of the highest order, Im not even convinced the top European stars make such demands. Someone made a great point in the last few days that the minute Barton left things would unravel for whoever took over. Mangan was a sticking plaster that allowed the poor behaviours to continue because it was easier to do so. Strong character needed and we have that in MT - Needs our support now though. Not MTs fault in any way but things starting to emerge now showing just how big a job he has had, to try and turn things around. I will be glad to see a good number of these selfish Offensive moved on. How do you that there has been poor behaviour? Maybe they were offered the opportunity to do some training up North as a carrot to get them to sign - can't blame the players for that decision.

It probably also suited the coaching staff as it probably meant 1 or 2 of them could stay in the north west to coach them. Everyone's a winner apart from BRFC! You do have to wonder what possessed Wael to agree to such a move.

I don’t know if we’ve seen the last of him or not but it seems likely. My benchmark for us is always Division 3, it’s the least we should be. Although this century younger fans may have a ‘lower’ benchmark considering where we’ve been for many seasons.
Sam Finley came to us when we’d just had an awful relegation and the whole team and manager had given up well before we were actually down. With Paul Coutts and various others he helped get us back first time, something we don’t usually do when relegated to the bottom league. Others scored and created the goals that got us promotion but he was an important part of the team and when he played well he was excellent. When MT came in this season he had a real purple patch and looked even better under MT. But since the Norwich match like everyone else it’s got worse. Don’t know why but it seems like something happened or perhaps it was just a natural ending. Whatever, hes been one of the consistently good players imo, over his three years. A promotion and two worry-free seasons from relegation in League. That hasn’t happened too many times this century.
Reading this thread it doesn’t seem too many will be sad to see Sam Finley go which I can kind of understand. His performances have dipped down like the rest of the team which makes me think something has happened / been said or even agreed. But I’m always aware of being careful what you wish for. Trolls changed his team after two decent consolidated seasons in 2010 losing a lot of solid players who’d done well. We got relegated in 2011. DC in 2018 after two decent seasons had to make changes from his trusted teams. We didn’t replace with better players and by December he’d gone and by 2021 we were relegated. I’m not saying this will happen this time because circumstances are different. I hope MT will be allowed to bring his own players in and we can consolidate at least next season.
Whatever thanks Sam. Your commitment on the pitch has been appreciated. We’ve had 7 promotions and you were part of one of them. Some of our legends didn’t manage that! You helped return us to where we should always at least be. 👏👏👏
UTG!

Thats because DMc seems to be much more hands on at Peterborough as was evhis club..who are used to do the hands on stuff .

Still waiting to hear what days of the week the players trained up North? Will be hearing next that the whole team stayed at home and trained in their back gardens. Even Paul (Roadman) never claimed this but said they all shared Vito people carriers to bring them down on a Monday or Tuesday for afternoon training.

This is what I said back in August. Okay, I go it wrong on Woods and Bogarde but I would add Conteh onto the list of players I would rather have in CM over Finley now. On his day, he is a decent player but I have a feeling he won't stick around now Barton has gone even if we offer him a new deal.

Can't believe his name wasn't spelt as "Finely" on the thread title. RIP Gaschat Or ‘Finally’

I didn’t intend to speak for him or make his case. All I did was say how I saw it after 3 years when we are in a far better position than the Summer of ‘21. Imo of course. 😉
