I have had very little interest in watching Premiereship matches, after the top clubs voted to end FA Cup replays, that interest is now absolute zero. Brighton, Bournemouth, and Luton etc, have forgotten where they have come from! Sure glad I do not have Sky, which help make the elite super rich. I would like to see Bristol Rovers in the Championship, not the Prem.

It appears the EFL teams are assembling their forces from what I have read. This FA cup replay decision is nowhere near done and dusted yet.

Although isn't 30 years since we had a replay at a big club so it hardly matters to Rovers anyway.

With the lack of replays the odds of playing at a "big" club are reduced. Just means if you get one at home you then have another chance of playing at their ground if you draw. While odds are small it is the hope we all have, most fans would like a "big day out" in a season, this lengthens the odds of it happening. Too hard for my brain to do the maths.

In the last few years we have featured in live games on telly in early round replays (Plymouth and Bromley) and if you look at the replay attendance and general buzz around after the Norwich first game you can see the financial benefits for lower league clubs. True they were not big clubs, but to many clubs the replay monies have an absolutely massive effect. With no replays we could have lost on pens in the first round and there would have been no Fulham or WBA in that great cup run under Trolls or Sion Spence's best moments for the Gas v Oxford which kinda kick-started the promotion run. Funny that Ryan Jones was regarded good enough to come of the bench to play 15 minutes of extra time in that game and has not had much of a look in since.

The 2008 Fulham replay was amongst the best atmospheres I've seen at the Mem. No goals, a terrible pitch, Jimmy Bullard, Roy Hodgson, and I was unusually on the West Terrace not the East.
My Gooner son (my apologies) came with me, and could not believe the attachment of the crowd to the game.
This is what we'll miss more than the chance of the money. The WBA game after this was brilliant too despite the result.
Cup matches on a winter's Tuesday night are what it's all about.

It's been an interesting piece of news this. Most clubs who have written statements have made a point about the financial aspect rather than sporting ones. Unfortunately that is the nature of the game now. Of course FA Cup replays shouldn't be pied off but the reasoning by many EFL clubs is both lazy and selfish.

If the prem clubs in Europe are upset playing too many games in the domestic cups then all the efl clubs should agree on not taking any of their players on loan. Let them stockpile, pay them stupid wages to sit around or send them off to some minor league abroad.

For clarity Bristol Rovers have had 12 loans from Premier League clubs in the last 3 seasons (Lamare Bogarde twice).

I've said before, if they feel they play too many games then forfeit the League Cup and leave it just for EFL teams.
