Just seen Martin's head butt on Mamadou Jobe which put him out of the last three games of the season with concussion. Lucky the police have not charged him with assault absolutely disgraceful. Hate to see this and hope the club fines him heavily. x.com/ramsaymatt/status/1781785174277034323

Think that could be Martins last action in the quarters. No apparent excuse. After all the talk around JB's alleged assaults there's no doubt about this one. Sad to say but probably time to move on

How many players have thrown a head butt and carried on with their careers ? Loads . Heat of the moment stuff that rightfully ends in a 4 match ban . Let’s not go ott .

Hopefully the last we see of him, his blatant cheating, rolling around the floor, screaming like a baby when kicked, wins the free kick and up he trots. Not a good role model. Plus it’s another pre season to get through, time for him to go get a pay cheque somewhere else as he slows the game down so much.

The only time I can recall them taking action involving a Rovers match was when Sean Rigg had his jaw broken. The usual suspects are totally over reacting to what is a typical incident on a football pitch.

For a senior professional to react like that means he should have his contract terminated immediately - no pay off/compensation. It's not acceptable behaviour in any role/job and should b punished with dismissal. He has saved us this season but this is not acceptable

Typical incident on a football pitch, ha ha ha Unfortunately it is, there'll be similar foul play across all the leagues. I can't recall any posters calling for Loft to be dismissed/the police involved when he elbowed the PV goalie in the chest last season.

What part of 'For a senior professional..." didn't you understand? 🤣 It’s an easy expression of outrage when it’s a player with no monetary value. If you (or anyone on here for that matter) owned a club with millions of debt I don’t believe you would sack a valuable asset. A far easier decision if it was someone like Payne for example rather than a Lambert type.

Disgusting, as it is, I would get him doing some charity work in the summer, hardly Lee Hughes or Luke McCormick (goalkeeper) actions.

We continued to employ a professional manager with two ongoing assault charges and also employed a professional footballer with a recent assault conviction, you sense CM would easily win a compensation claim if we dismissed him for just being sent off.

Two wrongs don't make it right. If I headbutted someone at work I would be dismissed.

There is no alternate case where one is a young potential multi million asset and the other isn't. There is one action of unprovoked violence being debated.

Guess from your opinion, you would, or have no problem with one of your friends being butted.

There is no alternate case where one is a young potential multi million asset and the other isn't. There is one action of unprovoked violence being debated. If an act of violence on the sports field is going to be punishable by instant dismissal then it would have to be applied consistently to all players. No club is going to set a precedent of sacking an easy target player (someone with no value that they may want to get rid of) and then find themselves having to go against their own policy when a star player does the same thing. I don’t think you get away with that under employment law. Nobody condones what CM did but these things happen now and again in high intensity, aggressive, physical contact sports. Not everyone is a Saint like Gary Lineker. CM was stupid, got caught and received a fair punishment imo.
