I am more surprised he didn't get more than a three match ban for that. (The fourth game is only because its his second red of the season) He should also be fined by the club.
Have we actually triggered the one year contract extension or has that decision not yet been made? Could even be his last act for the club which would be a strange way to sign off. Without his goals we would have been relegated weeks ago.

Disgusting, as it is, I would get him doing some charity work in the summer, hardly Lee Hughes or Luke McCormick (goalkeeper) actions. You can't just impose such terms on a player if it's not already shown in his contract but why would we want to try and ridicule one of own players anyway? He s embarrassed the club, experienced ex international, with nothing really on the game, unnecessary, not a good look, think you've got the wrong idea he wouldn't be wearing hi viz with Community offender on the back, probably weekend offender casual clothing 😂 Rubbish you can ask him to do it while you consider a financial penalty, it would hardly be in his contract other than bringing the club into disrepute.

How do we know that Martin wasn’t provoked? I doubt he headbut him for no reason.

If it was abhorrent for Barton to be violent, I'm guessing it's the same for CM?

As I said on the other thread, fine him the maximum amount allowed. Unacceptable from such an experienced pro, or anyone for that matter.

How do we know that Martin wasn’t provoked? I doubt he headbut him for no reason. Watch the video, yes the defender was pushing him in the lead up to the corner but the headbutt was a nasty response and done with sufficient force that the defender was ruled out for three games with severe concussion which as we know all too well is a risk factor for the player's long term health. The provocation was missing a penalty earlier I guess. It's one of the worst off-ball incidents I've seen for some time. Will not be unhappy if his contract is not renewed.

Though strangely the defender completed the match including the half time interval and even had an attempt on goal. Surely the Cambridge Utd medical staff should have taken him off after the incident or at half time. True Martins reaction to being manhandled by the defender was not acceptable hence a four game suspension. Nowhere near the worst I’ve seen. It’s now a matter for the club to deal with rather than this forums kangaroo court .

Would be glad to see Martin released now.
Will become more immobile next season and imo we need a clean slate attacking wise, sign 3+ new forwards.

I know its not the first and wont be the last headbutt to take place in a game, but its mad what footballers can get away with just because it happens on the pitch. If that happens anywhere else you are gonna be wearing a shiny manacle shortly after.

It sounds more like simulation if there was no complaint made by the player at the time, during half time or at the end of the game. Yes, CM is in the wrong and deserves to be punished, but how long did it take for the concussion symptoms to be checked?

If it isn't and we sign Marquis M2 then you'll be whining why didn't we keep CM when he was virtually guaranteed to score 15+ goals.

Just got rid of a manager like that, get rid of Martin soon he is now not playable. Too old for us aswell, younger players required. Up the Pirates.
