I didn't realise Rotherham also had Dillion Phillips on their books, who was signed by MT last summer, so it's not even clear if Dawson is being signed as their new No 1 or reserve goalie?

Pretty pee'd off with Rossiter if this is true. I know there is no such thing as loyalty, but the work and patience we put in with him deserves something. Will be happy if Hoole proves the ITKers wrong! He told someone I know he intended to leave, perhaps he thought he would be more sought after, I have no reason to BS 😉 I was told the same. If he stays he’s clearly changed his plans !!

looks like we're issuing long term contracts that will bring stability to the club and also attract players. Obviously that comes with risk that if a move doesnt work your kinda stuck, but on the other side, if the players develop we would get a fee if we sold, players can also think about putting down roots here and i'm hoping it slows down this revolving door that we have, appreciating that there will always be some churn.
looks like the club is building for the future in a sensible way

Looking forward to the daily Bristol Live ‘closing in’ tweet in around an hour for a new signing followed by Rovers tweeting 👀 around lunchtime again! Any guesses for the announcement today, I’m going with Dan Ellison.

Understand that Bristol Rovers have rejected a bid from Huddersfield Town for Antony Evans. Not clear on whether they plan to come back with an improved offer but this was a saga that was bound to happen at some point this summer. x.com/DanJHargraves/status/1805904498683973817?s=19

I think he should be aiming for better than league one though but he can earn a lot more with the likes of Huddersfield than with us.

Think he'll go Champ (Pompey or Derby) but Bolton and re-united with Azza would be tempting. Huddersfield not so much!

I hope the management bear in mind what it would cost us to buy a player of Evans quality. At the end of the day though he's only worth what someone is prepared to pay!

I think many of us believe the club bought him from Walsall a few days ago. Hope that a bidding war breaks out and we get a seven figure (inc add on's) amount for Evan's allowing us to then bid a decent amount for a striker

I think that its safe to say that he is off this time. Strangely for us - Rovers are in a strong bargaining position in that we have time on our hands and there are a few clubs who would like to sign him. I always doubted that he would go to Portsmouth simply because his family are all up t'north and he is close to them. Huddersfield is closer but i suspect that he was hoping for Bolton with his mate Azzer but they blew it in the play offs. Now we undertsand what Duff was doing in the stand just before the end of the season

It’ll be interesting to see what he does go for … as now he’s had his head turned I’m sure he will. Most seem to think £750-1M . Personally I think that’s a bit high and it’ll more around the 400k mark .

Always felt he would go - the break up of what seemed to me to be a dressing room clique was inevitable if MT was truly going to take us forward.
I think his replacement will make the group stronger.

Hudds are better off going for someone like Ethan Chislett who got more goals and assists last season in a relegation side

And we already have his replacement signed on the dotted line for at least 3 years 12 months left on his contract, but that doesn't stop other teams getting decent fees. E.g Peterborough
