Harry Kite supposedly close to signing on a free, will likely be first signing of the summer đź‘Ť. His dad has started following Rovers on social media too.

Are either of these two any good? Are they both first team regulars at Exeter? Will they make us stronger? (Apologies for my ignorance but don’t know anything about them!).

Kite can't get in Exeter's starting line-up. He's being kept out by Ryan Woods!

Kite's hardly set L1 alight but Hartridge has got to be an improvement on the likes of Wilson and Connolly? Assuming there's any truth in these rumours it does seem we're simply swapping the Scouse Mafia for the Doven Crew rather than going out and finding quality players from other clubs.

What about Matt Jay. Ex Exeter and thought was well thought of. Can't seem to buy a game at the moment

It feels like managers can’t seem to bring in many players that they haven’t already worked with.

Kieron Bowie and Marc Leonard from Fulham been on loan with Northampton could be of interest having done well over two seasons.Jayden Stockley probably won’t be staying with Fleetwood now they’re going down but he hasn’t been great. Did his and MTs time at Exeter overlap?
UTG!

Kite can't get in Exeter's starting line-up. He's being kept out by Ryan Woods! He was doing well in League 1 under Taylor and is only 23. He might be out of the side, because he wanted to leave in January if rumors are true. If we do sign him as a squad player, that's okay. I doubt he's going to be on a massive wage, so he would be useful to have as a back up, when Ward and others are injured. Not every player we sign we be with a view to them starting every game. We need to build a squad.

If we sign both, I expect they will be squad players that Taylor knows can do a job, if he needs them. Exeter don't pay big wages, so they won't be on much. We need a balance of these type of players and players on a higher wage. If we are signing them to be first team regulars, then that's worrying.

It feels like managers can’t seem to bring in many players that they haven’t already worked with. I mean it's hardly surprising, works in all fields of work. People tend to enjoy working with people they've worked with previously. Pretty much every manager post-Conference relegation has done it or tried to do it...

Steve Flack on a free. Experienced option. Could probably do a job.

Which is fine because most of them have still brought in other decent players that they had never worked with before. With the exception of Tisdale of course, who spent the one window he had only trying (and failing) to bring in players who he had worked with before!

That and the fella who signed some crocks who shared his agent.

Isaac Vassell proved he's worth a deal with his warm up displays at Bath City. 3 year deal.

This year- let's not get too hyped/ disappointed over a single signing...
Let's look at the window as a whole. Individually alot of talent was bought to the club last season. On closer reflection alot of the signings were high risk.
If Kite has the trust of the manager- I like this.

Not against the kite signing at all if it happens, decent midfielder just wondered why he hasn’t played for Exeter back end of the season was it due to an injury or is it the kind of similar position to Finley?
