Oh yeah cracking players, not even in the starting 11 for Exeter… also the stats worry me when a defensive midfielder has 0 yellow cards… does the lad tackle? I fear this lad will be pushed off the ball with his physicality! HUGELY underwhelming signings if we end up with these two. Over the years haven’t we learnt that it’s best not to judge players we sign until they actually play for us? JCH springs to mind, I’m sure there are others. Atm we haven’t signed anyone so a tad premature to moan about players we haven’t signed. UTG! Wise words Wareham !

Some good players in League Two that didn't get promoted we should be poaching 👌 Max Dean I like at MK Dons Longstaff from Notts County (unlikely) Alassana Jatta (Notts County)

Does that mean if Sinclair, Rossiter and Hoole sign extensions then we can claim them as Taylor signings too? Excellent stuff ! Anything for those Taylor fans to get a semi. Are there any "Taylor fans" or are there just Rovers fans? **shrug** Or is this some divisive Barton nonsense again? If so let it go, man

Jack Diamond also available after being released. Looked great against us but seems a bit up and down in terms of form, not surprising really with the rape/assault allegations going on which he has now been cleared of. Liked the look of Diamond when he was at Harrogate and Lincoln. Still only 24. Obviously carrying some baggage but worth a look.

Lad from wolves u21s coming in on loan. Unsure on name atm Alfie Pond is known to Taylor. Have you seen him play, or any clips of him at all?? It looks like he was highly rated at a young age and got the move to Wolves. But he didn't play many games while on loan to Stockport last season. So his career, could still go either way. Taylor played him at a young age in the cup though and rated him highly. So a loan to us could make sense and suit all parties. Obviously it might not be him, but it's a good shout that it could be him.

Must be 6ft3iin/6ft 4in, comfortable on the ball and decent pace. He went on loan to Yeovil where he was smashing it in his first few games, but was then suddenly recalled with Wolves signing him for relatively big money. I don't know where he is at with his development, but I would have hoped for a few more games at League Two or National League level for an idea. But, certainly looked a good prospect 2 or 3 years ago.

Not so sure Rovers budget will be sufficient for a challenge involving playoff position. The new season will be a tough one in a highly competitive division and Rovers will do well to achieve a mid-table finish!

See, I don’t think it’s all down to budgets, of course it helps , but a well run club with a keen eye for recruitment, a good manager who gets the best out of his players can get promotion. 👍🏾

True. Oxford attained promotion with a budget no larger than Rovers. Remains to be seen if Matt Taylor can motivate the incoming players to challenge for top seven.

I've no idea what Oxford's budget was last season but I wouldn''t be surprised if that wasn't a top 8 budget.

If the league was settled on budget, they should all write it down on a piece of paper and not bother playing a game. It's a factor obviously but putting a proper footballing side of the business is the bigger issue.

The key (for clubs like us) is using the budget wisely and punching above your weight (see Stevenage, Northampton, Lincoln and of course Oxford in the end this season) Just hope we get a team and a style we can get fully behind and have a good home record and a handful of great away days!

Neil Etheridge released by Birmingham, WYHHB? Can’t believe that he is 34 and he played for us back in 2012. Doesn’t seem that long ago to me!
