We have signed midfielder Josh Wakefield on a one month loan deal from AFC Bournemouth. Business should be finished now!

Not sure I can get too excited about this signing. He has very little experience and was sent back from a loan spell at Torquay because he wasn't good enough to hold down a place in their team.
JOSH Wakefield’s latest loan spell at Torquay United has ended and the 20-year-old midfielder has returned to Bournemouth.
Wakefield, who first joined the Gulls in mid-August, made three starts, seven substitute appearances and scored one goal during his time at Plainmoor, but he was not involved in the squad which lost 2-1 away to Kidderminster Harriers last Saturday.
“It’s a mutual decision for Josh to go back,” said United manager Chris Hargreaves.
“He is a good player, and he needs to start more regularly than he has been with us, but with Ben Harding now fit, we are quite well covered in midfield."

Not sure about this fella, 20 years of age to sit on the bench; Clarke keeps saying he will only bring in players who are better than what we have already, then pannicks and signs a kid who could not get a game at turkey.

Well he's cover for Sinclair isn't he? He was at Turkey to cover the injured Ben Harding. We're not looking to replace Sinclair.

We're not looking to replace Sinclair. I thought he was out for a month ? Yup. Wakefield is here for a month. It's cover. Not trying to find someone to better Sincs.

I think the reality is that no-one wants to sign for us and if they do, I'm beginning to question, why?

Let's give the kid a chance. In the right position, with the right tactics and with the experience of Mansell and Monkhouse alongside him - he might just be a pretty good option.

Here's a thought - why not give the kid a chance to show what he can do? DC doesn't sign players for the wrong reasons and, as we saw with Dave Martin, if they do get a bit of an attitude they're out of the team. I have no idea how good (or bad) Josh is but I'm willing him to be brilliant during the next month. Of course, if we could re-borrow LDV that would be the icing on the cake - LDV one wing and Dawson the other!

I think we're just questioning how good is a player that was sent back from his loan at Torquay because he wasn't good enough to get in their side. Hargreaves obviously doesn't think he's as good as Torquay's midfielders so is he good enough to step in for Sinclair for the next month? We have some important games coming up. Have to say I'm a little concerned. We desperately needed some quality in midfield, someone that wasn't just cover but who could give us a different option and challenge Mansell & Sinclair for a place in the starting 11. On the face of it doesn't sound like Wakefield is that man.

On the face of it doesn't sound like Wakefield is that man. I'm just questioning how the hell anyone can cast that kind of aspersion before there's been so much as a picture of the lad holding a Rovers shirt? We don't know how he'll do in partnership with our players rather than the Gulls. We don't know how he'll benefit from our coaching. We don't know anything about his character. Being sent back early would certainly make me re-double my efforts in training. The cries of oh why oh why does no one want to come to Rovers that are always followed on here by the instant dismissal of the players that we do get a hold of is so much cognitive dissonance it's unreal. It's not just online. I was stood next to people shouting "fvck off to Hartlepool then!" to DC when we went down one against Bath. The constant abuse of our top scorer speaks for itself. It's really, really frustrating.
