Birmingham's problem was employing the wrong replacement, similar to what we managed to do? If LR's remit was to get Hull promoted or at least in the top 6 then he's clearly failed, similar to JB being dismissed as we weren't top 10 at the time. Rosenior took over in Nov 2022 (when they were one point above the relegation zone) and guided them to 15th (14 points above relegation). Their chairman was asked after the first game of this season what their target was and he said top ten. Rosenior was sacked for doing so well that he missed a target (promotion) that was never set in the first place.... A good discussion about the decision on Talk sport earlier, the owner suggesting he was sacked as he doesn't like his style of football. It seems not many fans agree, time will tell who's right.

Kevin Bond has left, courtesy of Bristol Live reporting.
Any danger of the club ever making an official announcement about literally anything?
Or should I DM Gorringe or Wael?

Obviously the owners make a huge financial investment, but as you look lower and lower down the tiers the fans become more and more important to the club overall. My instinct is that the Hull owners have (again) got it wrong - not only upsetting many of the fans but also getting rid of a manager who has improved the club a lot over 18 months...

"Style of football" I mean, its just a phrase that is chucked about now when a chairman wants to sack someone. Personally, I like winning games of football. I dont care how its achieved whether its a hoofball goal or tikka takka total football. Hull have been a relegation threatened team since 2016, 7th is their best finish in years and I had them down to go up next year. Its akin to Birmingham sacking Eustace.

I mean, most of our fans didnt like him because he wasnt DC, he got pelters from the terraces, family was abused on SM and everyone criticised his style of football regardless of the results he was getting. Is it any wonder he had his head turned by a club that was on his doorstep? Also the fact he then told all of the players on Friday he was leaving despite telling the board he would speak to them post ipswich game, cue the radio interview... I think I was one of the few that enjoyed the football from a POV of knowing we would probably win 1-0 most games but our own fans played a part in the club choosing to accept his public resignation, the same fans who are now saying we made a mistake in getting rid of him.

Oddly this isn't me making a dig at the ownership, although employing him as manager they had no choice! We is more as a club, I think both the board and the support should harbour blame for that. Like you I was more interested in results than entertainment, if you want to watch good football you consider not watching Rovers. It'll always be a what could have been with Coughlan, it's a shame but there we go.

By the time GC jumped ship most fans were supporting him, the Mem was packed around the festive season games, it's nonsense to suggest the fans drove him to leave. It's pretty obvious Wael decided Garnerball was the way forward and GC must have known that.

The three home games before this were Pompey (8,648) Bolton (7,224) and MKD (7,864) Hardly “packed” as you say. I think most had warmed to him after beating Ipswich when they started to “believe” as such. Sadly we won’t ever know what would have happened.
