You can’t be that poor at modern technology because you have managed to post on this forum. using a e ticket is easier then posting on here. Very well. If you can find a way of transporting my desk top to the mem. I would be glad of the advice. So you don't have a mobile phone?

What's it like to be such a superior person sneering at others? Various people have stated before why they prefer cards and not because they are luddites. You are not in a position to argue with their logic, it is their choice. The only reasonable reason I have heard is for our disabled fans. The club have supplied cards to them. I am superior, of course I am. You should bow down to me. There is no reason for anyone else to have a physical card in this day and age. (Apart from being able to lend it to a mate). Apart from choice/preferences, nothing to do with passing it on. But you know everything.

Don't tickets etc in the wallets use NFC to communicate with the terminals, if not, you might as well just save it anywhere on your phone? Print it out on a piece of paper. Just like the old days... If that works print get it laminated and you've got yourself a free card?

I know plenty of elderly people who've got phone but aren't comfortable using Apple Pay/Google Wallet, surely you must have similar elderly relations etc? As far as passing the card on if you can simply use a printed copy then there's no difference?

I bet the same please complained when we went from a season ticket nook with rip out tickets to a card. 🙄

As far as passing the card on if you can simply use a printed copy then there's no difference? I absolutely take on board there will be more mature customers who do not have a debit card or credit card connected to their Apple Pay or Google Wallet and to those people, they won't be convinced to add a debit/credit card. In fact those people probably struggle with debit/credit cards and would rather write a cheque. I get the attitude towards not trusting electronic payment methods. Some people still don't trust online banking. However, adding the season 'card' to Apple Pay or Google Wallet is quite risk free when compared to payment methods. I would be more than happy to meet anyone to help them get their season ticket onto their Google Wallet/Apple Pay. Would take 5 mins. So, there is a difference between passing a QR code to someone to use and passing the physical card. When you have the physical card, you know you are the only person with it. If you give someone your season ticket as a QR code, there is nothing to stop them turning up at the next home game and gaining entry to the game and locking you out.

The reasonable reason is in the clue of the wording. It's called a Season Ticket that gets you access to a game of football. Dictionary definition of a ticket is a piece of paper or card that give the holder certain rights like access to football games. Disabled fans will not be getting a "Card ticket" next season just like "able bodied" fans

When we fly, we can use our phones, when we go to gigs we use our phones. At the Hippodrome last night, they asked for tickets and proceeded to scan the QR code on my phone. Should I have told them that is not a ticket as it was on my phone? This perspective would be acceptable in 1994, not 2024. The dictionary just hasn't caught up with technology. 2. Has that been announced by the club? Or are you itk? Or a guess?

Yes there will be no physical tickets issued next season as confirmed in person to me by the ticket manager Pete Weymouth.

I got emailed my ticket with a QR code that was scanned from my phone.

We probably had conversations like this when we began to ban horses from the roads and people didn't want to learn to drive a combustion engine, so just sat at home for the next 40 years.

That's more than twice the price of a new card.
