Can you just take a screenshot of the ticket, print it out,and use it instead of a card? Apparently you need NFC turned on on your phone so I guess it's a bit more tech than just reading the bar code, it must work similar to a bank card using Android/Apple Pay. Surprised to hear that. Not all smartphones have NFC, especially ones over three years old or so. Surely they can scan a barcode?

Think if you open the ticket on your phone it has a QR code that can scan too? Don't know whether that updates per game or remains the same

Don't know whether that updates per game or remains the same There's no ticket on your phone other than the one saved in your wallet? The Q&A clearly states for Android devices you must have NFC switched on, I assume the club doesn't realise that not every Android device as NFC. Not sure why iPhone users don't have to use NFC?

Out of interest, where have you seen this stated? Mine looks like it's just a QR code, it looks exactly the same as my co op members card in my wallet. I would be surprised if NFC is needed.

Looking at the Q&A, it seems to suggest we have both options: "How do I access The Mem on matchday with my Digital Season Ticket? IMPORTANT: To enter the stadium, your mobile ticket MUST be downloaded into your Apple Wallet or Google Pay (Android). Once at the stadium, as you approach the turnstile, open your Apple Wallet or Google Pay and locate your digital season ticket. Ensure you do not have any bank or other contactless cards at the back of your phone case. To gain access, look for the contactless NFC logo on the reader and simply tap your phone close to the screen as indicated. If you have multiple tickets on one device, remember to scan them at the turnstile one at a time." Notice, there are two discreet words of "tap" and "scan" being used. So, the turnstyle reader can handle both options.

In answer to your last question, NFC is automatically switched on in an iPhone when using your wallet.

I am sure there are a few older luddites like me but I would expect the club's Here to Help people will be around to provide assistance if needed.

The major step forward causing confusion, really!
Some said it would all be simples.
Hope my card works, still I have phone as back up.

More likely whoever wrote that didn't realise the difference between tap and scan, as if you can just get in by scanning a QR code then why do you need to turn on NFC on your Android device? NFC seems to be an extra security level on mobile devices. Some fairly recent Chinese Android devices don't have NFC so if any supporters have one of those devices they have fun trying to get in.

You have to use at turnstile then again to pass the guards on the steps to the stand. Far easier on cold days.

If you've got a new card then, in theory at least, you should get into the ground just as easily as you've always done.

What's the NFC reader going to read if it's not a signal from your phone/watch? I've no idea why the club have removed the reference to NFC as without it Google Wallet/Apple Pay won't work, if you try turning off NFC and using it to pay for anything with a bank card and you won't get very far. Possibly you don't need to use Google Wallet/Apple Pay, as you just need the QR code like in previous seasons.

I assume it's similar to a chip & pin bank card, if not, then we could have all carried on using last season's card and there was no need to charge fans £15 for new cards.
