Wouldn’t be so bad IMO if they didn’t have the ridiculous part where they don’t serve drinks at half time

I wonder if could order 7 pints and 6 large Blue Nuns, each time I go to the bar. Doesn’t seem to be in the small print that I can’t order as much as I want each visit. All jokes tbf. Don’t think they have really thought this through at all. Charge normal bar prices. Tenner to get in, Kids and concessions ect free of charge. Chuck in a Soft Drink, Fruit, Bar of Chocolate type goodie bag for all the little ones, you then have fans for life with great memories. Even free off the gun coke/ whatever for designated driver. Charge full price for Burger and Chips everyone who is drinking will pay for food. Better still get concession stands in with a hog roast/ street food kebab/ chicken what ever and charge a stand fee ect. Smacks of short term money injection to me. Tells you everything you need to know about the long terms plans for the club. Hate to say it because I’m not being negative, but I’m not a marketing expert, but someone must be able to come up with something better than that to attract people in. Trouble is this should have been thought of 6 months ago or more. Having said that we never know when a Euro or World Cup is being held do we……………. You will have a personal server who takes orders at the table. You can only order another drink when you have finished the one you currently have. I think that they are excluding a lot of people with this set up - your idea sounds more inclusive of the fan base.

Rovers are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't.
At least they have tried to do something this time around and maybe they will learn from the experience and improve the opportunity next time.
My personal feelings are that Bottomless Drinks and football fans is never going to be a good mix. Bottomless drinks and all you can eat food, just challenges people to over eat and over drink.

I am reading unforseen circumstances, as very little uptake and therefore a loss.
The worry is, if 60+ year old with no clue about marketing and only a vague guess about profits and demand, knew it was a non starter, why couldn't anyone at the club who get paid to organize these things see it?
I thought all this would stop when not so Bright left.

I thought all this would stop when not so Bright left. So, we are all very good at complaining about what is being offered by the club. Let's give them some ideas of what they can offer and be successful. I am all for the designated driver approach. Every table can nominate a designated driver that gets free soft drinks from the tap all evening. Would be good for getting people to the bar with their mates and would be good publicity that we are being drink driving aware. We could somehow leverage the Just Eat partnership. This could be a way of making a margin without the cost. Happy Hour for an hour before the game. Pints £3 to £4. Or after the game. A 'ticket' approach to a weekend session. If you have a 'ticket' for all three games, you get a burger or pasty at half time of the last game. If you get people to the bar, they will spend. For me, it's about making something attractive enough to get people through the door. How about running a penalty competition on the pitch, sponsored by Thatchers (with family friendly prizes), funds raised going to charity.

So what's happening for Tuesday's England game which you'd expect could draw a reasonable sized crowd to the Mem if properly priced, have the club just now given up trying?
Why not just offer the bottomless beer option alongside a non alcoholic option for £9.99 for fans who don't want to drink alcohol or just pay as they drink?

Just open the bar at the club for people to watch popular matches. Keep it simple.
Incentives aren’t always necessary, some Gasheads just want the opportunity to watch their country play at their clubs home 👍🏾
