www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/bristol-city-chief-financial-realities-9342437Looks like Pantsdown has thrown in the towel on the Premier dream. Although it's funny, of course, it's also a bit sad for football in general. If they can't make any progress with half a Billion having been thrown at it what's the point. What's the aim for us realistically in 10 or 20 years. How should the domestic league be restructured to create some meaningful competition for Championship Clubs. Maybe tier two European football or British wide cups

They have been very fortunate to have players to sell and keep within the rules , shame cos they came very very close to a points deduction scenario! thing is the Championship is now a fantastic league , 2nd only to premier in European attendances apparently so any club should be happy to be in there as I am sure we would be, trouble is, after a few seasons there fans would start demanding top flight football! Think City are sensible in not chasing the dream however much fans don't like it.

Got a feeling that City will be top 8 this season, despite what their CEO says. They have an astute managee there.

Selling clubs for all but the really big champ clubs but if you get the appointments right and have a great recruitment team you can compete and even go up (see Brentford and Luton).

Aren't both Bristol clubs "selling clubs" rather than just one of them, the difference is we sell to Aldi/Lidl, City to Sainsbury's!

Absolutely right. By the way, should have said manager, not managee but am in Crete and still getting over the 5-1 🍺🏴😁

Even the big clubs can’t always keep their best players if the money is right. It’s just how much you spend and receive that makes the difference.
