We've not signed anybody this summer so can't really say we've now moved on from offering ageing players lengthy contracts, I doubt 33 year old Joe Edwards was considering leaving Plymouth for anything less than a 2 years contract? Because I'm sure if we'd offered Curtis a 3 year deal he'd have been on our home page holding up a blue and white scarf by now. Why else would he sign for Vale in the league below who are geographically located further away from his last two clubs? Assuming we were in for Curtis I assume we were offering a contract of a minimum of 2 years, which given his injury record is really no better than the contracts offered to Hunt & Wilson. I doubt all the promising 23/24 years olds see Rovers as a go to club. |
