Relax everyone it's pretty clear from this photo JW has grown over the summer, as his trackie bottoms are now a couple of inches too short!!!!  |

Commanding his area is something which comes with experience and is the main reason why so many teams have experienced keepers nearer their 30s than their20s. I have said that he looks short when in the goalmouth- perhaps this is because he is not physically strong in the air if he is in fact 6ft 2- he certainly doesnt challenge for high balls like a keeper that height and was caught out with a fair few crosses into the box when challenged.
The problem with him being number 1 is that it will not take long for opponents to pick out this weakness and we will find ourselves bombarded every game. Anyway we will leave it to MT but the fact he was after Dawson says to me that we will thankfully start with a new experienced number 1 and Jed should stay as number 2.I would be surprised if he is loaned out to a League 1 or League 2 club for the very same reason that he wont be our number 1. His experience may have to be gained in the National League for a full season but he may benefit more by staying with us and training everyday with the goalkeeping coach.

Nobody really knows if we were after Dawson or not, I'm pretty certain a move across Yorkshire to a guaranteed top 6 challenger was always far more attractive than a move to Bristol to a potential mid table/top 10 so dem |

I agree with you Topper but Rotherham came in late as Evans generally does and yes obviously a short move to Rotherham was a no brainer. I hope MT has other keepers in mind.

Welcome to the gas Josh. I hope it’s another good season for you in League 1.
I’d have been happy for Jed to be our No.1 keeper but I don’t see the day ro day training so I guess we have to trust MT. I hope he’s there for competition and will help Jed develop even further.
