"He's not great on the ball and not a great long passer, his game is breaking up play and giving the ball to someone who can make something happen.
He doesn't very often score (only 8 for us in 5 seasons) but one thing with Jamie is he will give you everything he can.
His injury record wasn't great last year but we would have kept him, however he decided it was time for a change, maybe he is fed up of playing second fiddle to Ollie Rathbone?
I am surprised he has moved down to Bristol because he was rumoured to want to stay in this area and would have been a great signing for Bradford City or Donny Rovers.
He will receive a warm welcome when he returns as he is well regarded by most Millers"

There are nice homes just over the bridge that are a lot cheaper than Bristol and will be close to the training ground

Let's hope he's told his partner then they they'll be living in Wales not England, I've no idea if Scots find that less or more attractive.

Tbf, we've had midfielders that are technically gifted in the past but not willing to get stuck in (Westbrooke I'm looking at you), it will be nice to have a bit of steel in the midfield.
As long as we've got creative players making things happen further forward.

Gas girls have exactly the same....unless both teams are revealing new signings at the same time I would say it's kit related

52 Championship appearances in the last two seasons. The Two Seasons before 63 League one appearances. Looks capable of playing the level. On paper spot on (potential) signing FROM Bristol Post so you do'nt have to click the link with all the advertising. Bristol Rovers make it a perfect 10 as Matt Taylor sets up reunion with ex-Rotherham midfielder Bristol Rovers should have another new face in the squad for the weekend friendly at Bath City Bristol Rovers are closing in on the signing of former Rotherham United midfielder Jamie Lindsay as their 10th addition of the summer with the Scot undergoing a medical at The Quarters. As first reported by Football Insider, Lindsay is set to move to the Mem on a free transfer where he will be reunited with Matt Taylor who managed him for the Millers during his time at the New York Stadium from October 2022 to November 2023. The 28-year-old is a vastly-experienced campaigner with 305 professional appearances for Celtic and Ross County, as permanent destinations, and has spent the last two seasons in the Championship with Rotherham. Lindsay would quickly follow goalkeeper Josh Griffiths, who signed on loan from West Brom on Wednesday, and should be in the matchday squad for Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Bath City. A combative and competitive defensive midfield presence, Lindsay will help fill the void left by the summer departures of Sam Finley, Jordan Rossiter and, to a lesser extent, Josh Grant while hardening up the core of the Gas side in tandem with Kamil Conteh and/or Grant Ward. Lindsay played 156 games for the Millers over five seasons at Championship and League One level, earning promotion in 2022, but fell out of favour once Steve Evans was appointed in April as the Scot has looked to build his own squad in Yorkshire. He was also the subject of January interest from Wrexham but a move never materialised. Taylor once said of Lindsay, as he was returning from injury during last season as the Millers struggled towards the foot of the table: “We need 'men' at the moment. When it's difficult, you need 'men'. We've missed his characteristics as a player as much as any this season." It continues Rovers’ impressive recruitment in what has been George Friend’s first transfer window as director of football and Taylor’s first as head coach in shaping a squad more in his image, and a departure from the previous regime under Joey Barton.

When we got the back to back promotions under DC our midfield resources included Mansell, Clarke, Sinclair and often Lockyer(!)…Conteh, Lindsay, Ward and maybe Moore might be able to do a similar job at the higher level? You need all sorts to gel into an effective squad, yes we’ve got nowhere near the volume and variety in the attacking roles that we had at that time yet, but it’s a start.

Midfield is a position where stats can be misleading. Recall Westbrooke having reasonable numbers but didn't translate into pitch dominance.
Rotherham fans in large wanted him to stay. 2 promotions at this level and the gaffer knows him well. Very content with this one.

It's all signed and announced now.
We've missed a crunching tackler in midfield. Looking forward to seeing him get stuck in.
