I agree. Looks good so far but without those attacking options which give a balanced squad what we’ve recruited may not look so good. ‘20 squad (BG) looked good when recruiting but without the forwards to score we got worse and worse. Don’t think it’s like that now but we really do need at least one striker, if not two. UTG! Key differences I'm seeing between Taylor's summer recruitment and Garners are that BG signed a lot of academy U23s with no experience. Hutchinson, Senior, and Conteh all good ages and had full seasons in L2, and were the star player at each of their clubs. Sotiriou top goalscorer for Orient too. Lots of BGs signings such as Daly, Ayunga, Harries, Barrett had never played a minute of league football. Only ones that fit a similar criteria were Ehmer (won POTS at Gills in L1) and Hanlan (Gills top goalscorer) and both those flopped. So it doesn't always work out, but happier we are recruiting more in the pocket of proven players in the EFL. Yes, you’re right. But Baldwin, Westbrooke, Hanlan, Ehmer all came with experience and there’s still time to go to get those forward players. I think GF/MT have done well so far but we still need those strikers. UTG! |

I expect the loans will be attack minded.
Someone like Tyler Smith, or Victor or the winger that looked decent but Barton had a bust up with after a few weeks.
Cheap, potential but raw, that on their day can be superstars but go missing the next.

As the squad currently stands I think we’re going to struggle.

Martin was our main goal scorer last year and he is still here :-) Would be lovely if Brown showed more of his Exeter form as would be like a new player - hopefully a full preseason helps. Agree Evans is going to be missed though. Can't expect Martin to carry us for 46 games..he isn't fit enough run around for 90 minutes. |

In fairness we've only played one friendly so far, any good loanees are probably given a chance to show what they can do with their own clubs during pre-season and any talented out of contract forwards will probably hold out for the best offer. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

Not sure MT can do right in some people's eyes. We've substantially strengthened the squad, early on for once, and he hasn't finished yet. But that's no reason not to have a moan.🙄

Over the last two seasons, we have seen leads wiped out due to dodgy defending. I would like to see us shore up the defense and then the goals we can score are more likely to be winners. |

Sounds great but we've lost Collins and evo now so we really need to replace the goals and attacking threat even if the defensive third has been shored up |

Sounds great but we've lost Collins and evo now so we really need to replace the goals and attacking threat even if the defensive third has been shored up Sotoriou and Hutchinson are direct replacements. What we need is cover/competition for Martin. A pacey striker. Another winger and a box to box midfielder! |

I agree that having a strong attack is crucial, and it's natural to feel a bit nervous with the transfer window closing in. Hopefully, the club can make a few more signings to bolster the attacking options.
