I’m feeling a bit bored so maybe we could have a bit of fun and make a rovers kit hall of fame and shame. So feel free to nominate what you think is one of the best kits in rovers history or one of the worst. I’ll start it off Hall of fame: 1994-95 away kit hall of shame: 2018-19 away kit edit:ok so I think I might make a poll

The purple and black stripes away kit was a bit of a disaster I seem to remember.
I liked it as a shirt but we hardly won any games when we wore it.
May have been the team of course but I think the players could not pick each other out very well when we wore it.

That shirt definitely has a special place in the hall of shame as we were relegated out of the football league by a team wearing it. I hate purple too.

Nah Colin Daniel was definitely wearing our black away shirt that game. It is ingrained in my brain

That one can go in the bin too then lol.

it wasnt an awful idea. Hated the sponsor and the collar, but one season with a play on quarters wasnt terrible - didnt it break sales records at the time? I had one for sure

Hall of fame - 1980-81 away kit. Bukta, black and green quarters.
Hall of shame - any home kit without quarters front AND back.

That whole season was legendary. Daring new kit, Ian Holloway as manager... and, best of all, a move back to Bristol !!!

Frankie Prince wearing a rather un-impressive yellow number when up against George Best.

The Bukta kits have a special place in my heart, the green and black away in particular as you can probably tell from my user name. On the flip side, I really disliked the Strikeforce ones from 2001-2003 with that hideous cross design. Sadly I think the quarters on the back are no longer viable with league rules these days, even most teams with stripes have solid coloured backs.

The orange and lemon quarters from 86/87 is my favourite. The 95/96 away is good (rarely for me I bought one, it is still in the wardrobe), and I'd forgotten how much I liked the 04/05 away, the dark blue sash on a pale blue background, and the black and stone (I think it was officially "stone" rather than something else but I'm probably wrong) quarters from 01 to 03. For home shirts, the plainer the better for me, the ones from the early to mid-1950s are perfect.

We peaked in the 90s with the old badge and funky away kits. I agree i think the 90s were the best era of rovers kits. The 93-94 and the 94-95 away kit will probably be the best rovers away kit we will ever get
