The Bukta home kits during the 70s were the best by a country mile.

My guess is that you are going to be very happy this season... so similar to the away kit then with black squares in the blue quarters?

Hall of fame - 1980-81 away kit. Bukta, black and green quarters. Hall of shame - any home kit without quarters front AND back. The Bukta kits have a special place in my heart, the green and black away in particular as you can probably tell from my user name. On the flip side, I really disliked the Strikeforce ones from 2001-2003 with that hideous cross design. Sadly I think the quarters on the back are no longer viable with league rules these days, even most teams with stripes have solid coloured backs. That's the one. Black shorts, green socks. Absolutely beautiful.

The 99/00and 21/22 home kits are my favourite. I agree G and A, two great kits not just to look at but that provide great memories of the Latvian, Jamie and Jason, the introduction of The Duke, great memories of a team that so nearly delivered, sadly one of my all time favourites left in ‘Frankie, Frankie Bennet’ still see him to chat to occasionally. Also loved the away version 👍🏾 And of course, the 22 kit will always conjure up almost iconic images of Collins, Taylor, the incredible Eliot Anderson and of course the unbelievable celebrations and unforgettable images at the final whistle. Good times.

When I started watching in 1964, we played in blue and white stripes. Loved that kit. Never liked the red and white away kit that we had while later though.

The orange and lemon quarters from 86/87 is my favourite. The 95/96 away is good (rarely for me I bought one, it is still in the wardrobe), and I'd forgotten how much I liked the 04/05 away, the dark blue sash on a pale blue background, and the black and stone (I think it was officially "stone" rather than something else but I'm probably wrong) quarters from 01 to 03. For home shirts, the plainer the better for me, the ones from the early to mid-1950s are perfect. Good Lord Clovis……...the orange/ yellow quartered monstrosity. Please give yourself an uppercut….. I’ll be doing likewise. I remember queuing up to buy that one. 🥊

Liverpool away kit from last season was a good example of how quarters can go mainstream. I also love the St Pauli brown and brown quarters.

And I confess I have thought about buying the St Pauli brown and brown quartered shirt. They have had some cool kits over the years.
