Playing Devil's advocate but is going somewhere challenging for the title really a good move for a keeper?
Don't want to have a go at him as he seemed a great guy and gave his all; but when Will Puddy played for us in the Conference he barely had a shot to save as we were that dominant.

Surely this is all about preparing him for life as a Rovers goalie not just boosting his moral. It's now looking likely he's now at least a couple of seasons away from challenging for the gloves at Rovers, assuming we remain a L1 side

A full season under the guidance of Steve cotterill would probably see me giving up the sport! That much negativity at a young age could really damage someone.

Really hope this proves the right move for Jed. I'm surprised no one in League 2 wanted a young keeper with Leagus 1 experience.

Would you gamble on your survival in L2 with an unproven keeper if you were looking to sign a keeper? FGR have gone from Belshaw to Ward which is a big move in itself.

Disappointing A big step back. He has already coped well enough in League 1 and National League. If being loaned out again should at least been a team challenging for promotion in League 2. I don’t know how many teams in League Two were looking for a first team loan goalkeeper for next season, but I think any that were, would be looking for more experience than a 21 year old with 20 League games under his belt. There are plenty of those. Rovers have committed to Jed with a four year contract. I think this is a good move for him. If all goes to plan, he should play plenty of games, and if FGR are in the promotion shake up, as expected, he will be playing in pressure games too.

Why would anyone think Forest Green would be in the promotion shake up? I can only see them heading back down the leagues after their overachieving days in the sun!

I’ve gotta admit I’m really worried about this move , how is our 4’10” goalie going to grow into the six foot plus stopper we need if he’s now going to have to live on a diet of rabbit leaves 🍃

Perhaps most League 2 teams have sorted out there No.1s by now and will look to get a younger loan for competition or to be choice number two from a PL loan. We didn’t want that, we wanted a guarantee first team place to ensure games, hence going to FGR. Keep an eye on who league teams sign keeper-wise over the next few weeks. I may be way out! UTG!

I know if the tables were reversed we wouldn’t want our first choice keeper going back to his parent club a couple of times per week?

Another MoM performance and penalty save. Getting rave reviews from FGR fans, including this… “ Jed is an unbelievable goalkeeper. His punching and collecting of crosses so good obviously the pen save too. ”
Not bad for a shorty 🤣

It makes you perhaps realise the benefit in him playing for a club so geographically close to the Quarters

You sense JW is too good for the National League, I'm not really sure if he's any inferior to Barnsley's 20 year old loanee from Chelsea on yesterday's performance.

But ... as you said back in July, Griffiths is still our number one at this time, so perhaps Jed getting more game time and shot-stopping experience is a good thing overall?

It will be a good move if he comes back a better keeper. At present the move is right because he is nowhere near the ability of griffiths and would get very limited game time. In truth he is working with a good goalkeeping coach and Manager and will learn and hopefully come back a keeper who can control his defence. Still will be surprised if we dont sign an experienced keeper to replace Griffiths when he returns- maybe even Dawson if he doesnt ewstablish himself at Rotherham where he is at present number 2. There is a big gap between National Lerague and League 1 but I do hope Jed is successful there and comes back number 1 material.
