For those that were/are planning to go into town after the game tomorrow. I’d give the castle park area a bit of distance.
Think there’s a lot of football lads, both from the Cardiff & Rovers game and City and Willlen II game who plan on attending the enough is enough rally in the aftermath of the Southport stabbings. There’s a counter demo already planned so expect it could all escalate pretty quickly.

What’s the score with Cardiff and us these days ? They hate the sh1t and I’ve seen various posts from some of their fans that seem to have been quite complementary towards us in recent times. Basically, are we fighting them or hugging them tomorrow ?

Basically, are we fighting them or hugging them tomorrow ? I've lived in the Rhondda for nearly 40 years and it's pretty much accepted that everyone hates the Sh!t, and likes/tolerates us. I'm friends with a few ex Tonyrefail Tailban / Soul Crew who wouldn't have thought it "right" to fight the Gas all the way back to the 80's. In answer to your question, cuddle (cwtch) a Bluebird.

We’ve had the same with Newport in recent years despite there being no historic rivalry.

Must be well over 20 years since we played them in the league so I wouldn't have thought we mean that much to them any more. But over 1,000 making the journey for a friendly says otherwise.

Last league game against them was the infamous 1999/2000 season. We played them on the final day of the season. They were already relegated and we needed a point for the playoffs (but had only won one game in our last ten.. and that was against C*ty). and of course we lost. We went down the next season and presumably Cardiff went up.. and our paths have never since crossed in the league!

Spot on this ^. I’ve lived over here for 20 years now, my bestie is a big bluebirds fan but strangely enough over the last 10 years he’s been to more Gas games than Cardiff! He loves it, they do indeed detest da sh** and rightly so, but there again who doesn’t? 😁 The majority of Cardiff fans are fine with us English blue bastards. Not going tomorrow but we will both be in the Cardiff end for the cup game 😱, sitting on my hands of course UTG! Will tomorrow game be available to watch on this new super dooper Gas channel?

We mean nothing to them. If we had been competitive over the last 20 years they’d hate us like they do City. We’re “the other team” in Bristol so naturally they’d like us more than they do City

I used to have a Dentist in Tonyrefail, in the mid 70’s, he used to hate the English…..or maybe just me 😫 I also frequented a nightclub there around the same time (Meadowvale Club?). Went with some Cardiff fans to watch Rovers at Ninian Park a few times in the 70’s never a problem, watching England play there was a different kettle of fish altogether though.
