Does anyone know what's going on with Micah Antony?
Thought he looked decent against Plymouth?

No updates since that game, you have to assume he's no long being considered or he wants a better contract than we are prepared to offer.

I was impressed with him against Plymouth. Young, quick, good on the ball and he kept Whitaker fairly quiet.

Not the tallest, but looked good & was a definite outlet in the Yeovil, Plymouth & Cardiff games.

One of the rare times Ive seen a trialist play and thought we have to sign him, so glad to hear this has happened.

Well we were so slow going forward last season no wonder we struggled to score goals, MT has certainly addressed that. Very good signing. ππ

Really impressed me. Reminds me of a modern Christian Montano π Favourite memory of Monty is his little 360 before passing the ball to Linesy for his screamer against Cardiff in the EFL Cup

Slightly surprised that a long term contract has been agreed for Micah. At QPR he ended up being offered a couple of six month contracts before his departure this Summer.
He must have made a massive impact in the training sessions. His videos from QPR focus on his mobile attacking style, principally as a left sided player who cuts in on his right, so he must have demonstrated this aspect of his game in the training situation.
While he did well overall and competed effectively against the Argyle dangerman he had minimal impact in a progressive sense in the games I watched.
It was noticeable that he worked hard, was composed in possession and has a useful turn of pace.
If he is viewed as a left wing back or a left sided attacker it does seem a reasonable decision.
To judge from the pre season fixtures, Micah did not appear to be especially suited to the left back role. He is small in stature and it is highly likely that he would be targeted with a barrage of high balls if he is at left back. We all remember how Christian Maclean was dangerous in the Twerton era.
This is a similar approach to us using Bryant Bilongo as one of the main targets for goal kicks in pre-season.
My general view is that the coaching staff we have are shrewd judges of players. Both Clint and Promise have been brought in to play in a position that previously was not their fixed role. Reminds me of John Ward when he succesfully changed Gareth Taylor's position.
I wish him all the best. Welcome, Micah.

Really impressed me. Reminds me of a modern Christian Montano π Monty went to Vale where he played at Full Back. Now plays for Livingstone in Scotland.Saw him score for us at Notts County when we won 2.0 and also get subbed after ten minutes at Carlisle when DC realised our formation wasn't right.Liam Lawrence came on but didn't move a lot!!! Rare 3.2 defeat in a long undefeated run.Snakey and Billy Bob scored. My only visit to Brunton Park.

Slightly surprised that a long term contract has been agreed for Micah. At QPR he ended up being offered a couple of six month contracts before his departure this Summer. Is two years a 'long term contract' nowadays!? I think that's short, comparatively. For context: Promise, Lindsay - three years plus club option fourth year Hutchinson, Sotiriou, Mola, Moore - three years Senior, Bilongo, Ellison, Micah - two years Our big money / 'higher profile' signings have all been three years or more. Jed was also awarded four years plus club option fifth year. Whereas the two year deals were given to a L2 player, National League loanee, National League South player and now Micah - seemingly all players we're waiting to see how they adapt at a higher level. Sorry, I think I'm feeling a bit pedantic today.....
