On the eve of the new EFL season, I was wondering what others thoughts are on our first five games, what sort of results are we expecting? Always think a positive first 3-5 games sets the tempo of optimism as opposed to another season of looking over our shoulders, with that being said:
Bristol Rovers 1-3 Northampton Town - we NEVER win opening day!
Rotherham United 3-0 Bristol Rovers
Stockport County 1-3 Bristol Rovers
Bristol Rovers 2-2 Cambridge United
Barnsley 1-3 Bristol Rovers

Although we should beat Stockport surely ? This was my genuine assessment of the first five. My thinking was that by the time we get to the Stockport game a couple of 'proper' scouting reports would have been done & you would see a real league 1 game against Stockport hence the draw. I think both Barnsley & Cambridge are in for tough seasons. DC gone by Xmas. |

Stockport won league 2 by a canter, have money to burn and very ambitious owners. They've been quite widely tipped this season for promotion or playoffs at least.
