For me, mid eighties, Ninian was the first.
A good old fashioned tote end hokey cokey under their main didn't end well for a copper who decided to be brave and get in middle in efforts to stop half way through!
Antics. Can't beat 'em sometimes..
Other matches remembered where we were placed in stand in 1993 we lost ...
Also the unmentionable blasting last day of season where Earnshaw earned his stripes...any other memories?

26 Aug 1976, Ninian Park. Night match stood with a few Valley boys in their home end. Celebrating the news that I was going to be a Dad for the first time, then celebrating a 2-1 Rovers win. Smash & Grab. Apparently I got home late.🍻🍻

1995. Late Stewie winner to claim a Playoff spot. Had rocks and stuff thrown at us by Cardiff on the way back to the station, then put into a tunnel under the station with a locked door at the end. Had the head of South Wales Police round our house apologising a few weeks later. Lovely stuff.

Remember playing dodge the beer bottle when being escorted along Penarth Road.
Played the same game again in the ground but this time dodged bricks and cups of p!ss...
Always a warm welcome over there ...

Can’t remember how many times I’ve been to Cardiff over the yrs but don’t think I’ve been to one where I haven’t had a projectile thrown at me !

It's the bottles of urine being thrown that always springs to mind. Delightful behaviour.
Shame really as it's a great city and the folk are generally top drawer, but get a few hundred from Mountain Ash or Merthyr involved and it's carnage.
Have fun those going tomorrow. Not for me anymore thanks.

Anyone else getting the train tomorrow? Looks tight getting back to the station if it goes past 90 mins.

Throwing away promotion by losing to an already relegated bluebirds team, very intimidating atmosphere. Thankfully they don’t appear able to replicate that at the new ground.

Remember that. The defeat was unexpected and the press said we had thrown away the chance of becoming the top team in the West Country and South Wales.

We had won only 1 game in our final 10 (and that was against City) Dropped down from top of the table to play-offs.. and needed a point against Cardiff to finish there. Pretty sure we drew them in a cup not long after and got an absolute drubbing (5-1?)... I think I watched it in the Welly (back when they used to have a TV & Sky Sports )

Oct 93 I think. Got chased on way to ground when I couldn't help correcting someone saying the only decent Rovers player was Rob Newman. Mark Aizlewood hadn't long signed from the 82ers. Wasn't long before his back pass gifted us a goal. 'Nice one she'ed, nice one son. Nice one she'ed, lets have another one' A song for Taylor Moore if he scores?

Opening game of 1977/78, the 19 year old Paul Randall made his debut - and scored the equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
Had no idea who he was at the time - think he had only signed earlier that week?
Kept quiet after the goal as I don’t think there was segregation at the ground then and Ninian Park wasn’t the friendliest of places as I recall!
Amazing to think that we gave a debut to a 19 year old straight out of lower non league - wouldn’t happen today would it?

New Year’s Day 1983 I think it was. Special laid on to make the trip easy. No bottles of water or rocks thrown, nothing I can remember. To and from the ground. Totally uneventful including the game and a 3-1 defeat. Better time with the stewy late winner 👍

Late 80s....in a 2-2 draw in Cardiff (sure Ollie scored for us) Anyway as a 14/15yr old with a couple of mates of the same youthful age' I have never ran so fast in my life back to the train station after being chased a group of Cardiff fans.....
Happy Memories
