Hi all
Taking my young family to watch their first Rovers game on the 31st to celebrate the life of my Dad who passed away recently. (65 years a gashead)
It will be my first game in 3 years and my first with the kids. Whats it like for kids these days? They are 9 and 6 and we will be in the nee stand. Is there much around the stadium geared towards younguns?
Thanks
Ben

I dont bring kids so cant help but most on here moan about Rovers not attracting young fans so it's a bit annoying in 3 hours youve had nothing useful from the forum

It’s probably just a reflection on the fact that there isn’t really much for young kids pre match.
I’ve been bringing my boy now for 10 years or so, he’s 15 now, and he gets bored until I can take him into the ground, as he likes watching the crowd build and viewing the teams warm up.
I’d probably recommend getting seats in the south stand as it’s difficult for youngsters to properly see from the terraces.
Hope the kids get the bug and become gasheads, there’s no better feeling than time shared cheering on the boys in blue and white

Apart from the football I don't think there's much on offer for youngsters.

I have taken my 6 year old to two games the family enclosure in the south stand is ok however where we sat the post was in the way of the goal so I would recommend the south stand proper as we sat there and it was ok as could see both of the goals pre match personally I go in the Welly as my boy likes the play bit in the garden then get to game 10 mins before kick off with a pie as he loves food he's happy with that lol all th best hope you all enjoy it

There are no programmes anymore but the monthly magazine has a great deal of pictures and content, so kids can have a look at that and try to identify the players.
The CT occasionally has some activities going on, the SC sells sweets and other merchandise and then of course they can always visit the superstore.

I take my daughter and have been for a few years now to most home games and she loves it… she’s now 11…
Theres live music in the fan zone, go see John Kayes in the Bristol bar before the game, food and definitely get in touch with both Pete in the shop and the Community Trust and they’ll help make it special for their first games…
Definitely look to go in the South Stand as that’s where most families sit and if your kids are like my daughter, they can’t stand for a whole match and generally the south stand is less cramped…
