Here’s a controversial idea and somewhat old fashioned , why don’t we play a right winger on the right wing and a right sided defender as a right full back? Even more old fashioned is the old 4 4 2?? It all went to pot with formations when they bought out squad numbers and lost the 1 to 11 numbers for the starting 11, once again commercial sensibilities outweighing sporting traditions. If we did the above in football the debate as to where to play Thomas disappears , he’s either good enough as a right winger, or not, unless he’s a Gary mabbutt type player who can play in a few positions, but would take the appropriate number shirt. It’s all about opinions footballl, and there is mine. I really don't think the number a player has on his back affects the way he plays, or the formation the manager chooses. However, I very much agree with playing right footed players on the right and left footed players on the left.

I think he will play every game (he is not injured or suspended) and that is great. He is an impact player and can fit into numerous formations. Adding RWB last season was a real bonus. I can see us using more subs for longer and more formations during games than previous seasons, so adaptable players and a strong bench are what MT has built for the squad. Imagine he'll get more assists than goals. His shooting is his one weakish area (which is maybe why he hasnt yet made a no10 spot his own)

LT is still not a WB.
If I was MT I'd consider playing 433 or 4132 next game and have LT in attack.

No you wouldn't as MT's a stubborn git and he will never change his mind, when he joined us it was suggested he favoured 3 at the back. What's baffling is why he, or at least GF, never signed any experienced wing backs.
