Griffiths 7 MOTM streets ahead of his teammates
Moore 5 that he had our two best “chances” of the first half speaks volumes
Wilson 5 saved further embarrassment on at least two occasions but more panicky and less assured than we’ve previously witnessed this campaign
Mola 5 our most committed defender but a poor header for their first.
Thomas 5 most of his noticeable work was in our half…miles away from where we want it to be
Ward 3 I think I saw him run about a bit, at present a shadow of the player that dominated Norwich last season
Hutchinson 4 took a couple of reasonable dead balls, clumsy and disappointing in open play
Conteh 4 he breaks up play but that’s both theirs and ours!!
Bilongo 4 not in control much
Omechere 5 tried but ultimately failed
Martin 3 anonymous

Senior 3 I applaud the intent to release LT further forward but in reality he didn’t make us stronger
Taylor 3 didn’t make things worse, didn’t make things better
Garrett 3 saw one tackle and a pass-cum-shot into the advertising hoarding
Sinclair NOLE but a reasonable cameo
Sotiriou 3 ineffective

By not being asked to come on McCormick and Shaw automatically became our best outfield players in the squad
Ref 4 seems to be an average performance for L1 about 2 points below what should be an average performance for a ref

Stockport 7 very strong midfield considering they have a lot of injuries.

Griffiths - 7.5 MoM. The fact he’s got MoM in every game so far, should tell us all that the attacking threat or creativity is far from our main problem….

Moore - 6.0. Should’ve scored from Hutchinsons corner. Overall his defending was sound but his distribution was in the main too many aimless punts up to Promise.

Wilson - 7.0. Another solid game defensively but another player happy to hit the ball into channels and make everything a 50/50.

Mola - 5.0. Easily his worst game. Defensively poor, giving needless fouls away when out of position, terrible defending for the first goal caught underneath the ball.

Thomas - 5.0. Another 90 mins and another 90 mins with zero impact in possession. Not helped positionally granted, but he does have licence to come inside and roam and when he did his distribution was pretty dire with a pass completion of just 62% when there was barely a risky pass in there!

Ward - 4.0. Not sure what he’s offering atm and for me he’s been our worst player in each game. He may not be fit but he’s done nothing to justify the faith put in him and yesterday was his worst game of the 3 so far. Dont think he’s helping Kamil or Hutchinson at moment.

Hutchinson - 7.0. A mixed bag overall but probably despite some erratic play our most likely source of creativity. Moore and Bilongo should’ve scored from corners. He tried to make something happen around the box a few times (with no real joy) and what the hell was Promise doing stopping the ball when his pass put him through on goal with no defender in sight? Could easily have had 3 assists with better play. Doing his transition into the league or his confidence no good by dragging him on 60 mins each week.

Conteh - 7.0. Does exactly what it says on the tin. He wins his headers, breaks up play and tries to pass to the nearest team mate. Unfortunately for him that was normally Ward who couldn’t keep it! Overall our best midfielder.

Bilongo - 5.5. spent a lot of time getting in Mola’s way when in possession and giving him little to no help at all when out of possession. Could’ve scored and then we’d all be taken in by his happy smile and lovable personality some more, otherwise didn’t really have any involvement.

Omechere - 5.0. Feel for him because he’s feeding off scraps, battling for channel balls and playing up front with someone who’s so far from being fit it’s a joke. Really needed to take Hutchinsons pass in his stride and I fancy he’d have scored his first goal but other than that, even allowing for the poor service I really feel his hold up play was below par. At times he seemed to have a spring loaded foot! As I say that’s a bit harsh cos he’s basically playing up front on his own and having to deal with hopeful punts upfield from our back 3.

Martin - 3-0. Rushed back too soon. Not fit. Not prepared. Terrible decision to start him especially given how poor he was midweek too. It just shows that above all else at this level an average team needs to have 11 fully fit players and there can be no passengers even if someone of lesser ability has to play.

Senior - 3.0. Can’t fairly give him a mark. Not his fault but a disaster of a sub in hindsight.

Taylor - 5.0 Did ok. Didn’t add anything to it and didn’t do anything worse than anyone else

Garrett - 5.0. Not really long enough to have any impact. Should possibly have hit the target with his effort on goal.

Sinclair - 5.0. Came on and showed some energy. Wouldn’t expect anything less from him. Personally I think he should’ve started up front instead of Martin or out wide instead of Bilongo or Thomas. It would give an outlet without compromising anything defensively.

Sotiniou - 5.0. Offered some energy and pace. We need him to get fit soon. He’s willing to run behind and stretch teams and his movement in that direction will give players like Hutchinson and Thomas some space to play.

Ref - 6.0 nothing to moan about tbh.

Stockport - 7.5. Best side we’ve played by a country mile. Seriously under estimated / under appreciated by our fanbase. Camps Norwood and Collar is a very strong centre midfield, Horsfall and Pye are strong and uncompromising and Wooten is a handful which gives them a core of a side that’ll be tough for anyone to break down and Barry is the stardust.
