I've heard from a pretty reliable source it was 400k plus add ons. That’s quite the outlay alongside Omochere . Not bad for pizza shop owners 😮 I thought my Uber Eats bill had gone up! 🍕🛵

Interesting article.
Excellent to see a plan, a value they weren't willing to pay, and a figure which they felt would give return in the long term.
Long may this sensible approach continue.

I thought the same. It shows we are willing to spend money, on the right player for the right price. But we won't pay over the odds, just you get the deal done. Hopefully we carry on with this model.

Looking at the videos he looks an exciting aquasition , the sort of player we’ve wanted for a long time. Good luck Shaq Forde.

Spoke with George Friend in the Mem Car Park and he said what a frantic rush it was last night to get the deal done. Said the owners were fantastic in their support to get it over the line. Great to hear … If this is correct then it puts to bed the rumour that Friend or Taylor knew nothing about the transfer. I'm sure somewhere Matt Taylor said that they had looked at him but a deal wasn't possible at that time due to the fee involved. Then suddenly he became available at a price we could afford right at the last minute.

Pretty sure there were similar rumours when we signed Rickie Lambert, that he was on a list of potential replacements for Junior, but not the first choice.
I think that was Andy Williams who turned us down to do another year at Hereford and apparently Dunford when over PT & LL's head and did the deal for Lambert.
Can owners really ever win, they're criticised for interfering, but look what happened when Tisdale put all his eggs in a Jayden Stockley shaped basket?

This is absolutely true … Shaq was one of our first targets but Watford initially stated he was not available at a price we could afford. He became available at the last minute - Agent phoned around potential parties and George moved quickly , the owners were superb ( his words) and we signed a very decent player. The tripe being peddled on here that the owners signed the players is simply not true .. they dug deep to bring in the players we could reasonably afford. I know this from two undoubted sources so the sooner people stop trying to split the fan base about it the sooner we might just unite and get behind the Manager.

When people have private and/or secret messages and calls and meetings,is it possible to keep the back slapping private too? If you're not going to share the info I don't want to share the love either.

From what I have been told with add ons the final fee could be nearer £700,000. As I said on here before probably the best of our signings.

I just think it's a relief to know that despite appearing to be completely wrong over the weekend, an itker is actually in some way right. About what I don't know but then it's not my place to know

Baggins keeps ringing me to ask what colour panties I'm wearing.
And how long I've been wearing them.
Do I win £5?

So are we to say one ITK’er is 100% making it up for attention but the other is 100% being honest.

Agreed , as we discussed in our phone call 📞 No I just replied on here to prove I’m not a 💩🏠 and I was happy to clear up that I wasn’t trying to split the fan base. Re our conversation, and I’ve said this on the other thread. It appears MT did know who he was as he was on a list of potential targets, just like Lambert was no 5 when Dunford and Ron Craig drove to Rochdale to get him. Taylor had no idea he was coming in, we both agreed on this, Claremont thinks Friend did but when the manager left he publicly admitted he thought all deals were done, so someone isn’t speaking to him?! He also admitted he never presented to him, as I said weeks ago, that’s the player. So I got it wrong, Friend did know of it, I will 💯 stand by it was Abdul who dealt with the agent originally. And I stand by the fact it was all rosy after the Cambridge game but only got strained when the agents got involved demanding playing time and then Taylor loses the plot after the Swindon game. ……..no smoke without fire and that was Taylor at the County Ground questioning stuff. I openly admitted to Paul (Claremont) I said too much and at the start it was in defence of the manager, he is pro MT and I’m now questioning his ability to manage the club. We are still in a position today where Shaq Forde has deleted all his past and present association to Bristol Rovers, make what you want of this.

What I make of it is that Forde has had way too much grief and abuse and has decided he doesn't need that sh** in his life and has made a sensible and mature decision to sanitise his social media. I'd go further and suggest that's the best thing he's done since he joined us and I'll wager his life is better for it. Maybe he isn't so stupid after all.

Let me put it another way as well, if a DOF is wheeling and dealing all day on deadline day, irons in the fire and all that, doesn’t the manager have an incline of what is going on and hangs around as he might be needed to get a player of the line with his vision and personality 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
