Let me put it another way as well, if a DOF is wheeling and dealing all day on deadline day, irons in the fire and all that, doesn’t the manager have an incline of what is going on and hangs around as he might be needed to get a player of the line with his vision and personality 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️ Surely the DOF and Manager are on the same page though, where is the suggestion to the contrary?

Most players speak to a potential new manager before a deal is done, and he was a potential target for weeks. I’m telling you, from what I’ve been told, neither the DOF or Manager knew he was coming in late on the 30th, the DOF wasn’t doing the wheeling and dealing! Interesting on the other thread, Blueridge who I don’t know has said the same. If the DOF and manager are on the same page, who was the outburst aimed at after the Swindon game Hugo?

I'm not denying there may be interference from the owners son. I'm just not certain the siging of Forde is the symbol of that.

Fair play to the owners son i say as he looks a decent player to me . Well if you are going to praise him, part of MT’s outburst at Swindon was not having a no2. So again, who is he at odds with, does Friend think the new way forward is one keeper on a Saturday on the team sheet? One thing is clear, the manager wants a no2 keeper.

Baggins keeps ringing me to ask what colour panties I'm wearing. And how long I've been wearing them. Do I win £5? Did he mean to call Bolders?

Fair play to the owners son i say as he looks a decent player to me . Agree he looks like he could be an absolute gem if we look after him. On regards the signing of him I don't get what the fuss is all about he was a target we couldn't afford and very late into the window he became available at a price we could afford and he signed. It's not like we signed someone random who the manager or DOF knew nothing about.

I suppose that depends if you’ve signed other targets after and now you’re left with a bloated squad and unhappy people around the place because they aren’t getting minutes.

Best trainer at the club or one of them is Jake Garratt, can’t get a game.

But its a squad game and if we don't sign these players and then injuries happen the manager and club get slated for not recruiting. Currently out of the 3 strikers we have all are injured with Martin about to return but will be limited minutes. If players are sulking as they are not getting game time tough pull your socks up and train harder to fight your way in. Do you not think this happens at any other club?

Midfield is massively bloated. I always felt it was a mistake to only have 2 centre forwards and they both have fitness issues

Don’t be surprised, he’s been told he’s not allowed one in his budget, listen to his Swindon post match interview again.

I suppose that again depends on who’s decided on the squad size and who’s signed the players.

And for all the praise on here re the signing of Forde, £500k plus, that’s a big gamble and we hope it pays off because Promise everything but a scoring no9.

But that is what the remit is to sign players who have the potential to take the club forward and become an asset to sell on. You have to take risks, some will flop and some will flourish.

The Promise signing, despite being a decent player, looks like a scandalous fee. He is a good player but a Fleetwood fan who I do business with said to me at the time he doesn’t have a killer instinct and more worryingly he hardly ever played 90 minutes as he didn’t look fit. He averaged 56 minutes a game for Fleetwood last season in the league. I hope we can build his fitness up to a better level.
