So first of the season for me and after yesterday's signings, hopefully it won't be too bilongo until the goals will be going in left right and centre and with Shaq in attack, we may get see basketball style attacking
Whilst the season does have a lot of promise given our signings, it will take time and we conteh give up on the lads...
Ok ok enough of that and the eye rolling from you gasheads and back to the serious stuff..
Today represents a good opportunity to get another 3 points on the board, Cambridge yet to win with 1 point so far, but with 4 goals and 7 conceded, they will challenge our defence and hopefully we can do the same to theirs.
We typically do well (commentators curse) with 4 wins out of 4 at home in recent times and 5 out of 6 and we do have a knack of scoring against them and we need to keep that going, not only to increase the confidence in the guys, but to also bring the return to 7 points from 12 which wouldn't be a bad start.
On the team, I wouldn't change the back 4 from last week. More game time gives them knowledge of each other and that can only be a good thing.
I'd possibly drop Ward for Garrett or Lindsey. But we need to get Thomas higher up the pitch and also maybe start with Shaw for the X factor, but Bilongo has started well.
Up top, Promise and Sotiriou to start with the new signings on the bench.
The good thing is, is that we have options and we have to give these guys a chance before we crack the whip. 16 new signings was also always going to be tough and gelling time is needed.
Overall I'm upbeat for today and going for a solid 2-0 win, defence again holding strong, with Promise and Thomas opening their accounts for the season.

Will be making my way up about midday, really looking forward today.
Only our 4th league game, however I feel with the opposition, at home and their results so far it will show us how this team is going fare.

Not 100% on Shaq Forde but considering it wasn't officially announced until the deadline you'd assume it was concluded after midday. So he probably isn't for today's games. |
