Very good interview and insight. So good to have a plan, see it coming together and now hopefully see it succeed in the short and long term.

I watched this too.
MT seems so much happier these days' he smiles and has that glint in his eye. I'm happy for him and I think we are all beginning to understand his ideas/game plan.
PS.....just be patient with the squad' they are still finding their feet so let's get behind them' and be gentle on any mistakes.

Good he used it to plan what he wanted to build and got George and the owners on board. Absolutely. We will for sure have some bad days, maybe some very bad days. But if we see the effort from the players, and stick to the plan and not throw it all away and start again (again) then thats good enough for me.

Yes, a good interview, from a manager who seems at ease. Two comments about players attracting interest from higher levels. Now being able to progress as a team on and off the pitch whilst cashing in on a few players would be a BIG change

I’ve thought for a while that for a lower league club like ours that won’t be winning the FA Cup or Champions League any time soon, what I really want as a fan is to feel part of a ‘journey’ and to believe that the club has a long-term strategy it’s working towards.
For too long I’ve felt like the club has bounced wildly from short-term plan to short-term plan and it’s been difficult to see any real vision/coherence in our recruitment, style of play etc.
But at long last I finally feel like the club is operating more smartly in the transfer window, has a clear plan for the progress of the players brought in, and is recruiting players that specifically fit the type of football we want to play.
As long as I can see what the club is trying to do and it’s well thought-out and logical, even if it doesn’t work perfectly or straight away (or at all!) I can get behind it much more than when we’re just bumbling along from one quick-fix to the next.
This feels like a long-term plan that everyone at the club is behind, working towards and determined to see through. Who knows if it’ll be successful or not but the fact we’re trying to do something a bit different gets my vote of approval!

Let's hope the majority of Gasheads will see things in a similar manner.

Really well thought out, reasonable comments on here. And I feel exactly the same. If only some of he cretins who post on the Bristol Live site could see this bigger picture.

I agree that finally the club appears to have structure, purpose and a sense of direction.
But we are no where near where we need to be yet so expectations have to be cautiously considered.
We've beat 2 crap teams who will both be in the bottom 10 of this league one almost certainly bottom 4.
Then when we've come up against the 2 decent teams in Stockport and Rotherham We've been either backs to the wall or pretty sh**e.
Cautiously optimistic is the camp id say I'm in 😄 as it will be all doom and gloom again on here when we have our annual loss to Barnsley away Saturday.
Pick something up there and il start to slowly believe.

Still early days though, players just getting to know each other and settling into a new City etc, along with an injury to last seasons top scorer. Maybe a defeat coming on Saturday but looking for a gradual improvement as the season progresses

Early days but very encouraging I remember a posting that said they had talked to the owners son who said you wait until next season it will be different or something along those lines. Well I’m pleased for MT as I wanted to give him a chance especially as it must of been hard to come in and face that changing room which was influenced by the ghost of JB We needed a reset and boy have we got one. As a fan since 1967 I’ve never seen so many new players arrive - a culture being created with a clear strategy to advance the player profile. It feels a little like Peterborough’s ethos of findng young hungry players and selling them for inflated fees once they have progressed the club and themselves. I believe we have this squad now and hope it is the new ethos of Bristol Rovers which gives us a real chance of reaching the Championship as I believe we are now credible and ready for this challenge. Fingers crossed UTG

MT coming across more relaxed and on a Mission with every one of his people working with him .... What a difference a few months make and when the undermining toxicity evaporates.
Going to be a tough season but I sense we will have some fun along the way.... Strong foundation being built.

Going to be a tough season but I sense we will have some fun along the way.... Strong foundation being built. Now he’s got his own players , young hungry and pacy ….. you can see why he’s happier. Trying to get a tune out of the last lot who most had already decided they were going was a pretty much an impossible task. From now onwards he can be judged fairly imo.
