Appreciate the deep data might not be for everyone and the sample size is low but I saw this post from Blues Breakdown (statistical, scouting and recruitment analysis with a focus on Brum and the EFL) and found it fascinating. Field tilt = Ratio of passes made in the opposition third v possession which looks solely at ratio of total passes made. Field tilt goes a step further and basically says "you've averaged 43.5% possession but are you just passing it around the back or getting into dangerous areas" Main points: - very low possession (52% v Northampton, 48% v Millers, 39% v Stockport and 35% v Cambs), 43.5% total. - field tilt is also low, which (as above) means we're mostly keeping the ball in non-dangerous areas. This matches: - high recoveries against, meaning opponents win the ball off us in our half/defensive third. - conversely, we win the ball back high up ourselves (7th best). - our attacking data is obviously below average and that's reflected in our expected points (14th) v position (9th). - shots against, xG against and xG against per shot is relegation-worthy form... HOWEVER, this is MASSIVELY skewered by our battering away to the currently-undisputed best team in the division, Stockport. We conceded 9 shots on target v Stockport alone, compared to a COMBINED 7 shots on target in the other three games. In summary, and in case there was any doubt, our goalkeeper (13 saves) has been outstanding. Additionally, we're very solid at home and much leakier away (makes sense, tougher opposition too).

Griffiths has been a revelation, could've been a very difficult start to the season if we had somebody like Matt Cox between the sticks.

Not sure Cox would have kept Cambridge's first half effort out, if that had gone in it might have been a different game.
JG could well go on to be one of top goalies in L1 this season, if not the No 1.
