Disappointing result but I was encouraged by that display. I don't think we're that far off being a really good team. The fixture computer definitely hasn't helped us with the first few away games but at least a lot of the tough ones will be out of the way early!

We looked so much more dangerous with Shaw and forde on at the end.
Oh well our annual defeat to Barnsley away was to be expected.
Griffith's our man of the match by a mile. What a keeper.

Gutted as the Barnsley player who took the throw in which led to their winning goal had his foot over the line and should have been a foul throw

Disappointing result, but not a million miles away. What game were you watching, JG must have brought off at least 5 decent saves but we created nothing apart from Sinclair's late effort, our goal and other attempt on target were from Barnsley defensive errors, there's been no real improvement on last season's performance.

Bilongo had made two headers that were simply attacking the ball and a flick that he had no idea where it was going….theres been nothing about his game that’s been measured or deliberate in 5 games. Certainly not made me think he’s a good footballer. He’s a runner who can head it. Not sure we lost today due to Bolingo, as a squad we simply weren't good enough, apart from the the PC header I don't think Barnsley's dodgy keeper had one save to make. It's going to be another long season if we're second best again at every decent away side. I agree. I wasnt suggesting for a second that we lost due to Bilongo! I just said there were / are a number of players who have looked very average against anyone good yet were roundly lauded after beating a side like Cambridge last week. That was very much a false perception of the players and the team. I said that at the time.

Fair result, rode our luck early but battled hard.
Back 3 + GK solid, but we lost the game across the middle 5. Macca + Thomas particularly ineffective.
Promise caused so many problems, was great to see him get through 90.
Great to have genuine options off the bench, Odonkor and Shaq caused problems.
Overall not too dissapointed.

The Rovers curse continues.
Haven't won a game at home since February. Ends against us as per.
Apart from the opening 15 minutes, which was absolutely dire, I thought we played some good stuff at times and certainly grew into the game in that 2nd half.
We still fail to create many chances though, and Conteh was a huge miss for us today.

Midfield let us down abit today I thought, got overran multiple times. Conteh is our most important player , without him our central midfielders were headless chickens.

Well it’s Taylor’s team. I thought at times we looked like a headless chicken. Midfield poor. Thought Wilson was our MOM. Promise never gave up. Macca should be shipped out. On the whole very average and at best mid table. UTG

Disappointed not to at least get a point and had them worried. They are no better than us

As I said. I think we are poor in the middle mostly. Missed Conteh who can sit just in front the defender and break up play. Garrett having to cover for Ward And LM who both look off it.

Game of two halves. First half if Barnsley had walked in 4 or 5 nil up you really couldnt have complained. We took the error at the back well to sneak the equaliser. Second half we looked better and had a few chances. Being brutally honest if we had got a draw it would have been daylight robbery. Barnsley are a much better team than Stockport for sure. Rovers have a lot of work to do. On the road the midfield particularly looks very weak.
Best outfield players First half Moore Second half Wilson Overall Omichere Man of the match Griffiths.
Time will improve the team but we could easily become a relegation battler or an upper midtable team

As soon as the commentary said they havent won at home since February. I knew we would lose. That's Bristol Rovers. My thoughts exactly we are the gift that keeps on giving for breaking poor runs for opposition, haven’t scored for ages break your duck v us Haven’t won at home since February win against us Better 2nd half but we still look short of ideas up top

Real shame that today but MT maybe needs to be a bit braver ... Too easy to plug in McCormick today when we could have been bolder and potentially even more secure.
McCormick was an absolute passenger throughout - Why did we not keep Garrett in that forward role after he did so well last week?
Now we see Grant CardWard holding his leg again so will probably be out for another four weeks albeit I think we could be stronger with him replaced by KC.
Referee was poor I thought - Barnsleys front men got away with assault especially Cosgrove, Ref starting booking players on 85 minutes plus when he should have been carding from about 50 minutes. Bilongo had been minced a minute or so before the winning goal. There was way too much holding back, shirt pulling and over the top tackles that went unpunished.
Overall the better side won no question about that but if that is a Top Six side then we can certainly compete this season no question.

Most of those shots were long range and most keepers would make them at this level. What chances did they miss, which you would have expected to be a goal? Promise and Sinclair probably had the best 2 chances, that didn't lead to a goal. Plus Promise nearly created a one on one with his strength, but just missed the ball at full stretch, during the first half. Corners at the end, with blocked shots. Definitely better than last season, when we barely had the ball in the final third.

Disappointing result, but not a million miles away. Love to know what game you watched. Should have been 3/4 down after 15 mins. Another game of 30% possession, hardly any shots on target, a keeper to thank to keep goals conceded under 5 against a team that haven’t won at home for 6 months

Fair result against a team you’d expect to be in the playoff hunt. Thomas and Bilongo were quite exposed. Saw more from Shaw today than I have from Ward all season - he needs to be dropped. Conteh is a huge miss, shame Lindsay isn’t fit.
