They have a young keeper who has flapped under high balls & made a horlicks of several of them & even blamed the sun for 1 he conceded v Northampton! Must put him under pressure. Barnsley will press our 3 CBs so need to be calm & assured. They’ve also scored a few from quick breaks; so whoever is in Kamil’s role today will need to disciplined to break up play. 2-1 Gas! Agree about their keeper, both goals conceded against the cobblers were poor imo. If he is put under pressure today he has got a mistake or two in him.

If Shaq has done well in training this week he’ll probably start but I’d have thought Sotiriou did enough last week to keep a place ahead of Hutchinson?

No way should McCormick be anywhere near the starting eleven ... so far has added minimal amounts when involved.
Same starting Eleven for me ... but I would move Moore forward to the DM spot and bring in Taylor to start. That said I think MT might put Garrett in KC role and bring in Hutchinson.
If we are on it today we can win this - their fans are edgy at home - Maybe a 2-1 or even a Marshy !!

Barnsley are unbeaten on their travels so far this season.
Not so dominant at home.
Still expect them to win but may not be a walk in the park for DC and his squad.

We're very good in defence. We need to improve in some areas of midfield And we have a great deal of options and fire power up front, really looking forward to seeing what Shaq is going to bring. We seem like we have the Genesis of a really good well balanced team, dare I say top 10 team? Gas to win 3-2

Interesting, has Moore played that role before? He's solid so can see him doing well there. I agree that sadly McCormick shouldn't be starting, I would always prefer Shaw ahead of him

Steve Cotterill, in this interview, even suggests he signed him specifically for that role of defensive midfielder. www.shropshirestar.com/sport/football/shrewsbury-town-fc/2022/07/23/loanee-taylor-moore-to-shore-up-shrewsbury-towns-midfield/

Believe this is a good time to be playing Barnsley DC still finding his feet with Barnsley - we know he contributed to our slow starts to the season when here. Well Daryl we’ve got a new team and ethos now along with dangerous forwards. 0-2 Gassssssssssss

Fingers crossed for a continuation of a winning run for both Goose and the Gas! Tough game today but I think as long as we play with the attacking intent that we saw against Cambridge and are defence remains as measly as it has been all season so far then we should get something out of it… Conteh and Forbes both played last night so are definitely out and we know Senior, Martin and Lindsay are out injured so I’m thinking it’s going to be a similar line up to Cambridge at home but I can see Ward dropping deeper alongside Garrett and Hutchinson to come in as the attacking one …. We’ll see O’Doncker and Shaq on the bench imo…. But both will gate game time today…. Heart says 2-1 or 1-0 win, head says 1-1 draw. Either way should be a decent game. 3-4-1-2 Griffiths Moore Wilson Bola LT Ward Garrett Bilongo Hutchinson Promise Ruel Subs: Taylor, Shaw, Shaq, O’Doncker, Sincs, Macca, Sousa Both come on and score - Shawshaq redemption.

Barnsleys first was a bit of pace up front (that would be Mola's side?) I think we have a bit of pace at the back to counter that threat. The 2nd was an individual error. If we can put the pressure on them, we won't be out scored. Going for an optimistic 0-0

Rumour that Griffiths is injured. We'll just need to peg them in their half. Drop out goalies, anyone?
